    Headset only works with adapter


    I recently returned my wireless turtle beach headset because of the quality. However, I did like the how they felt so I picked up the ones that resembled them the most just wired. I do not like the adapter that goes into the USB slot on the Xbox one controller.
    I would rather control the volume from the settings. I used the AUX Jack morning and loved it. Tried to do it the same way that evening and it’s doesnt work anymore. It does still work I plug them into the adapter. Hopefully someone can help.

    Hey Baseballfan5303! Do you have an Xbox Headset Adapter to try it with? It is possible the LVL adapter only works with Afterglow headsets. Post back and let me know!

    Headsets that can get game audio through controller?

    I'm trying to figure this out, Turtle Beach is the only one that says that their headsets work with Xbox One chat adapter for game audio.

    Yet Astro and Tritton (my headsets of choice) haven't got anything yet.

    Does Turtle Beach have a contract with Microsoft and that's why their headsets work with it, or are the other ones not saying that theirs work?

    Would the A50s get game audio through controller adapter?

    It just makes me mad that the only headsets that officially have adapter compatibility, do not have mixamps...

    Using Official PS3 Wireless Headset with Xbox 360

    The only way you can get the headset to work with the 360 is to hook up audio out from the 360 to an adapter that can pair with the headset. You wouldn't be able to use the mic on the headset, unless there's an adapter that takes the 2.5mm output from the
    controller and pipes it to the same sort of adapter.



    There is no way to "pair" a Bluetooth headset to the 360 directly.

    What headset are you using?

    Be aware that there are two standards of headset plugs called CTIA and OMTP. On both standards, the Microphone and ground connector on that plug are reversed.

    For a headset to work properly, the headset connector has to be a CTIA standard plug. If your headset is a phone headset (e.g. Apple or some older Android or Nokia compatible headsets), then they use the OMTP standard, and won't work properly.

    If you do have an OMTP compatible headset, simply buy a CTIA to OMTP adapter (or since the adapter simply crosses two wires, it is automatically an OMTP to CTIA adapter as well). Also, since the adapter only crosses two wires, these adapters should be dirt
    cheap. If a store asks you to pay for this adapter more than you'd pay for a Coffee to Go, you're being ripped off.

    The Stereo Headset adapter uses the USB-like port next to the 3.5mm plug. So if only the 3.5 mm port is mechanically defective, the Stereo Adapter should work.

    If however, the "sound decoder" inside the controller is faulty, neither the 3.5mm plug nor the Stereo Headset adapter will work, and you will have to get your controller serviced.

    ^^All the after market headsets will work with the Xbone, the only thing is there is no mic for it. The "adapters" arent out yet, but you can use the headset for gaming sounds.
