Headset on xbox one controller

I've had no problem with my headset since I bought it. Today, the console decided that the controller needed a firmware update. Since then neither of the headsets I have work with them. One is a Turtle Beach and the other is a Kotion Each I believe. Any
tips on getting them to work again?

I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:

• Connecting a compatible headset to Xbox One
• Xbox One controller and headset compatibility

If the problem persists:

• Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced.
• Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
  updating the first controller again.
  If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
  Xbox Online Service Center.

xbox one controller disconnects with headset

okay, so i was playing on my xbox one when my controller disconnected. the controller then didn't turn on until i took the headset out. so now my controller will only turn on if there is no headset.

in short: with my headset in my controller will not turn on, without the headset in, the controller will turn on and play perfectly

headset troubleshooter and let us know how it goes!

 

You will have to contact te developers for the headeset issue. May have something to do with your headset.

 

Thanks but been through that a couple times. Headsets work fine on other devices as well.

 

Two different headsets, same problem. It's not the headset. Tested them on neighbours controller and they're fine. It's the firmware on my controller that's stuffed it up.

Thanks for the reply bud, from personal experience, try a
soft factory reset (While keeping games and apps with the controller and headset plugged in) so everything updates together. Try it and keep us posted!

Haven't tried this. Will do shortly.

 

Sadly this didn't work either. Even tried a complete reset. Erasing everything. Still no joy. Can't believe there is no way to roll back the firmware.

We understand this is a frustrating situation. I would recommend contacting our support team at Contact Us

(Side note: the callback request option is only available for specific countries. This should automatically adjust to your country, if not on the bottom left corner it will show region and you'll be able to change it from there as well)

It's going to ask if you want help from the virtual agent select no thanks, pick the category (Games) and just pick a contact method (request a call from support or Chat is faster).
