Headset not working properly

I've had the same headset from the day I got the console, and it was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. When I'm trying to talk it won't work anymore. I can hear everyone else that is talking, but I can't talk myself. I purchased a new headset about a
week ago, and it had the same issue still. I also purchased a new controller yesterday, hoping that was my problem. It still is not working. What I don't understand is that when I move the wire around it works temporarily ( like 5 minutes, if I don't move
at all) but then it will stop again, or make sounds that my friends have described as sounding like heavy wind blowing through the headset. I tried all of the troubleshooting that is here, and I tried getting a new headset and controller to see if the problem
was either of those. Nothing fixed my issue so far. Today I'm going to buy one of the more expensive headsets hoping that it will work, and if not I'm not sure what the problem could be. I did the hard reset holding the power button and the cold reset by unplugging
the console for 10 minutes. There is no dirt or anything in the port and since it didn't work at all for my brand new controller, I'm beginning to think it could be the console now. I'm hoping to find some kind of solution and I really don't want to find that
my console is already broken.

So it was just the headsets I suppose. The regular headset doesn't work for me but the turtle beach headset works just fine. I'm not sure why it happened, but it's done for now at least.

you can go in Settings >system > Sound & Video and if some Funcionality is off

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to use your headset mic.

Depending on the type of headset you are using, you might see the Audio
option under System in the Xbox Guide.

In this menu, you would see the option to turn on or off you Headset mic, however, this option would not appear if your headset has the capabilities to adjust this setting via an adapter that is usually attached to the cable of your
headset.

If your headset works across other device, then this would indicate that the issues is not with your headset, but with your controller. If you are able to test your headset on another Xbox One controller, then this would provide us
with some additional insight as to what the problem would be.

You mentioned that you have checked for updates, but if you haven't had a chance to

check for updates for your controller, it is something that I would recommend that you do.

If possible, can you verify that your headset works on another Xbox One controller?
