Headset not working on controller

Does anyone know why my headset stopped working all of a sudden on my controller, it's the third time it has happened in The last 3 months. I borrowed my cousins controller and my headset now works on it. S,o looks like I'll have to buy another but it's
starting to get expensive now.

Headset and wireless controller

6 week old Xbox one, wireless controller and head set, all working fine and now headset and controller not working together. Checked headset else where and working fine, checked controller and all working, any suggestions please . Have already switched
off and reset, disconnected controller and re-set already still not worked

Controller mic

got this brand new controller yesterday and have been using a headset and out of nowhere my headset just stops working and it’s not the headset it’s the controller because the headset works perfectly fine on my old controller and now whenever I plug in my
headset on my new controller it makes a loud staticky noice and won’t work

To check, are you using an official Xbox One wireless controller? Also, what brand/model headset are you using and what's going on with it?

Are you having trouble hearing game or party audio or not being heard by your friends in an Xbox Live party?

BOught a stereo headset as well as a new controller. wouldn't you know- the old headset works fine with the new controller and the new headset doesn't work with old controller.

Problem- DEAD controller headset port.

Try to use the headset to another controller.

If your headset works to another controller, then it is an issue with your controller that might need to be replaced or repaired.

You can try first to use another headset to the controller ( the one where your headset it not working ) to see if it is an issue with the headset.

Hey there, It can easily be that the jack on your controller/headset is broken.

I'm going to list a few things to try (if you can).

1) Try the headset in another controller.

2) Try the headset in another device.

3) Try another headset in the controller. (for example your phone headphones)

If the headset works in another device, than it might be your controller.

If the headset works in another controller, than it's your controller for sure.

If another headset works in your controller, we can also assume that headset/jack is broken.

Will need some more info, what is the make and model of the headset

Has this worked the past.

Does the headset portion work correctly, in other words do you just have an issue with the mic.

Can you try another controller, or better yet try using the headset on a friends xbox or take it to gamestop

If the headset works on another controller then it may be an issue with the controller or console, if this headset does not work with another controller, then it may be an issue with the headset.

Not all headsets are supported with the xbox

In the instructions to the bluetooth headset it says that it will recognize the headset as an external device and will use slot one but some controllers wont allow the headset to be on the same slot as the controller the red brand controllers do not work
with the headset
