Headset not working in Party

I am able to hear others fine, even able to send out messages and talk in-game with others able to hear me fine but in Party, my headset is not working for whatever reason. The audio is getting picked up on my end because I see the icon moving, but no one
else can hear me.

I've hard reset my Xbox and reset my router but am still having the same problem. Any ideas what could be the cause here?

Check your NAT type. If it's anything other than "OPEN" then you will have party app issues.

If your NAT type is not "OPEN" then you will need to port forward on your router to resolve the issue.

Are you using a third party controller? If not, you may require a headset adapter (as stated above). Xbox controllers have a unique input jack size that work with Xbox headsets or require an adapter to work with third party headsets.

Sorry for the issue with your headset, There are many factors to headsets working correctly. The biggest is if the headset is first party or a third party headset. This makes a big difference due to updates will always work for first party headsets but
not so much for third party headsets due to being made by other developers. You can try the

Headset troubleshooter also when you went to update it even though it said was up to date. Did you attempt to update the controller?

is your question how to reset your controller or how to get a headset to work? Some headsets (3rd party) will need the adapter to work correctly if connected to a headset.
