    simply put, plugging in the headset to my controler SOMETIMES has no affect. The kinect system still has control of the imput, and chat is game chat is still output to my tv.

    USB Wireless headset Sonic or Dolby downmix HDMI Receiver audio

    I have a USB dongle wireless stereo headset. PDP AG9. When the USB dongle is plugged in and Headset settings set to Dolby or Sonic, Settings shows the HDMI Audio out is downgraded to stereo instead of my normal Bitstream. Even when
    the headset is not turned on. I have to unplug the USB dongle for it to show the usual Bitstream, etc. for HDMI out. Is there a way to not have to keep taking it in and out to have control over the HDMI Audio out when enhanced headset audio is selected?

    Hearing players through my tv, but my headset is plugged in.

    If the headset is plugged in, you should hear sound through the headset. When you have the headset plugged in, click the mute button on the headset adapter. Does an orange light illuminate on the mute button when you press it? If not, you may not have the
    adapter inserted all the way in.

    Mine has done the same. Maybe the controller update today fixed it???have you checked?

    I havent seen the problem recur, but I still have game-chat issues (PvZ) where i see alot of activity, but my system receives nothing...

    Stupid question but have to ask

    yeah chat will come out of the headset also when you plug it in, not sure if you can change this setting still, i know my mates bro used to always have chat coming out the tv and just used the headset to talk dunno if that carried over tho.

    but yeah plug the mic in people can only what your headset picks up tho you can mute that with a button press and when you unlug it your kinect will take back over and the voice will return to your tv aswell.

    Did you purchase the headset brand new or pre-owned?

    My friend had this issue a few days ago when connecting a wireless headset, the wireless headset would automatically get set to the second quadrant, and it would show a headset plugged in even when it is not.

    I found this post elsewhere, it may be of some help to you, but if the headset was bought brand new this might not apply.
