Headset not hearing game sounds

hey my headset was working fine then all of a sudden i could talk to friends but no game sound is coming out of headset. I tried headset in my phone and can hear perfectly. Can anyone help me fix this. I just went out and bought new headset it worked great
for like 1/2 hour then game sounds went away again

Xbox 360 Wired Headset

Is this headset the one that came with the xbox? If not who is the headset made by? What sounds are you expecting to hear via the headset? Some headsets you'll only be hearing player's voice and not the game itself.

Headset not playing game sounds. Only chat works.

For anyone only hearing chat and not the game on their one earpiece headset just go to settings and make your sound mono not stereo. I just did it and fixed my headset.

Soft Reset xbox one

Let's try to power cycle your console. Please hold down the power button on the front of the console for approximately 15 seconds until the power light shuts off. Wait about 60 seconds, then power it back on. Be sure you see the green "XBOX ONE" animation loading
screen when you power it back up. end check the audio in youre headphones

None of this worked! Its a brand new headset and worked perfectly for only a half hour. What happ3ned?

Sorry to hear about the issue you're dealing with.

Are other controllers giving you the same problem?

It could be a controller problem but if you haven't yet, I would try a soft factory reset of your console.

It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts (as they will be removed during this step) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure to choose reset and keep my games and apps

Unfortunately that cannot be the case, as I stated in the OP, this happens with 3 different sets of headsets - and one of them (the original MS chat headset) was new out of the box but still this happened.

My friends don't hear shrill in party chat, I do. They apparently hear "cricket sounds".

In game chat they dont hear cricket sounds, they hear slight crackling (which I don't - game chat sounds perfectly for me).

I tested the same headsets in Skype and they worked perfectly.
