Headset no mic volume as greyed out!!

Hello

Need some help pls. Following a recent update my sons headset has stopped working, both in terms of the microphone and the earphones.

I have swopped the headset out for another two other headsets, and indeed changed the controller.

I can't help but notice that the in the top right hand corner of the screen there is a new microphone icon, which is showing as muted. I cannot find anywhere you enable this.

The controllers are both patched up to the latest patch, and both of them are showing the volume button in the controller setup menu as greyed out.

If anyone can help it would be really appreciated as I have spent hours trying to resolve but all has ended in frustration.

Try performing the hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

Some have reported that adding the adapter for the headphone to the controller has resolved the issue.

Thx all - but unfortunately it didnt work even after a factory reset so not sure what to do next!

Cant believe this issue cant be fixed or a solution provided by Microsoft!
