headset / muted mic

i recently purchased the bengee 9000 for my son, i know its compt. with xbox 1, i tried every single plug that came with the headset, i know its not the headset because it works in on my pc, i used my other sons headset and it works, any ideas? also for
some reason we can not UNMUTE the mic. i tried everything in settings and i get no options to unmute.

Is your mic muted? I know after market headsets have a mic mute, mine does anyways.

If you are using a headset is the mic muted?

 

First, make sure the controller is completely updated with the headset attached.

Second, try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and
restart the console.

If none of that works try a different controller.

 

Thank you i will def try a hard reset, i def. know the controller is updated because i keep going to that option and hitting update lol, i will try a hard reset if that does not work, do you think it could be my controllers? because now my other sons headset
is not working on the xbox 1

If after testing the hardware, i.e. a different a console or a different controller it would be best to look into replacing those items.

In this case, the controller could be relative the situation, try getting with our phone support team to check warranty status or look at open options for the controller.
