    For some reason the headset mute icon has appeared on my screen problem is that i have never had a headset or plugged one in. How do I clear this so that i can play my games help please

    Razer Chimaera 5.1 Mic Mute problem

    I've had The Razer Chimaera 5.1 wireless gaming headset for about a month, and recently (about a week ago) the headset would automatically mute itself. I would be talking and mid sentence the mute button would flash on and cut me off. To speak with the headset
    I have to constantly make sure the mute button is off which ruins the experience with the headset. Is there a way to fix this? Or is the headset broken?

    Hey Paul!

    Where are you seeing the symbol? Is it in the top right corner of your dashboard? Usually by default there is a symbol of a little microphone with a line through it when there is no headset plugged in on the dashboard. When a headset is connected to an
    active controller there is a symbol of a little headset there in its place to indicate it has been detected.

    Hi George

    Yes it is in the top right side but i do not have any sound coming from my console via the tv it is plugged into.

    If this is not the reason for any sound coming from the tv then can you help

    Hi Paul!

    With the information provided in the posts and replies, I understand that the problem occurring is that there isn't any sound coming from your TV from the Xbox correct?

    If so, I would suggest to check this article on how to Troubleshoot sound on your Xbox One console.

    controller audio problem

    • Disconnect the headset or unplug the headset cable from the bottom of the controller, and then reconnect it firmly to the controller (in the expansion port for a headset or the 3.5-mm port for a 3.5-mm chat headset).
    • Make sure the headset is not muted. To do this, check the mute button on the headset controls. (For a headset, the mute button is on the left side of the connector that is plugged into the expansion port of the controller. For a 3.5-mm chat headset, the
      mute button is a slider button on the front of the audio controls that are in the middle of the headset cable.)

    I have never run into that problem but their is two ways to mute in party and on headset but they both mute and if its not reading a headset and it works in another controller then it's the controller if not it's the headset

    Its either you have a wired headset that has ripped wires meaning you need a new headset or you muted yourself in a party or headset if you have a mute button on the headset.

    My son's mic has stopped working - was fine and then stopped and now it has a mute icon top right or bottom left depending on screen layout - why?!

    What kind of headset is it? Most of the headsets have a mute button located either on the headset itself, or the cord connecting it to the controller. Also does he have a chatpad? All of these have buttons that can mute a mic, without him clicking the mute
    button in the party.

    The microphone is muted, not the headset.

    The headset and microphone works on another xbox and controller.

    I have tried it on 2 controllers on the bone that is muted.
