Headset Microphone problems from latest NXOE update 1/23/16

I have been having a problem. I haven't had any luck in resolving it either. It started just the other day after the update. Which btw gave me so many problems with my service that I have spent the last two days fixing them. I used xbox support for
some of the problems (they had to have me do a factory reset to resolve some issues) and some on my own. I've fixed everything but this. My headset is not showing up in my Settings>Kinect and Devices>Devices and Accessories like it did before the NXOE update
and now I am having Microphone problems. Mainly, it isn't letting me speak to anyone.

I've had a xbox live account longer than some players have been alive (13 years) and I know my way around xbox's quirks and the peripherals problems. I just can't seem to figure this one out. I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x wireless 7.1 dolby
headset and haven't had a problem with them since I bought them in December. After the update, and the problems associated with it, I have no microphone in party chat or game chat. I can hear my voice through the Turtle Beach's Mic Monitoring System which
allows you to hear your own voice through yr headset , so I know that the microphone is working. I can hear the games, console sounds, even the people in a party or in game chat. No one can hear me. I've done every fix on the Turtle Beach website to no avail.

I have been using my kinect mic, which does work, just not well, in conjunction with the headset. Of course if I move away from my console to do something no one can hear me because I am not close enough for the Kinect mic to pick up my voice. It
doesn't sound that great anyways. Plus it kind of defeats the purpose of a totally wireless headset that costs almost $200.00. I've done everything to fix the problem and have come to the undeniable conclusion that the problem lies with the new update.

Turtle Beach is no help as they have no customer support anymore. Xbox's customer support seems to be lacking these days too. I can't figure it out so I'm wondering if anyone else has had any luck? Any help will be appreciated. I hope that someone
will read this and be able to help.

    :)

Bug - Unable To Remove Achievements App from My Stuff

I'm unable to unpin the Achievements apps from My Stuff after NXOE update. I had pinned the Achievements app before the NXOE update and now after the update I'm unable to unpin the app.

    Steps

    1. Pin the Achievements app before the NXOE update.
    2. Update to NXOE.
    3. After the update is successful, select the Achievements and then unpin the app.
    4. Observe how nothing happens when you try to unpin the Achievements app.
    Expected Results

The Achievements app should be removed when the user unpins the app.

microphone no longer working after latest update

Granted, it has been a while since the latest update was downloaded to my xbox one. But I feel the need to post the following "improvement" comments that relate to my current experience with my device

    1. The microphone on my headsets no longer work since the update(s) were installed. Yes, my headsets and microphones worked fine prior to the updates. One headset is a Turtle Beach, the other is a Microsoft. On both headsets the earpiece works fine but the
microphone no longer transmits sound. The little icon on the screen says I have a mic, but the other end hears nothing and the little icon does not flash when I speak. This used to work fine.

    2. The new user interface is crap. I expect things to move around, and perhaps get a bit difficult for a while. But this latest release is downright user hostile. Finding my way around takes too much time (at best) or is downright impossible (I can't find
what I am looking for). Not a step in the right direction.

I'm having the same issue with the Xbox branded headset when plugged into the Chatpad. Happened after one of the updates. I can hear fine but no one can hear me.

It's definitely some sort of issue with the update. I bought brand new controllers, Chatpad and mic to verify same issue with the new ones

  5. Same headset, opposite issue. Everyone in party can hear me, but I can't hear anyone. I can hear myself in Mic monitoring as well. I am very tech savvy and have tried everything I can think of, but have not found resolution. A workaround I have found for
me is to assign my headset to another xbox live account on my xbox (one of my kids') and then invite that user to the party. Then I can hear and they can hear me. Might work for you...

    Screen Dimming While Playing............

It's definitely an issue with the NXOE. It is my understanding that it will be working in a future update, if not, by the public release. I will add I haven't had any problem with a USB microphone present with a wireless guitar.

Xbox series x Mic monitoring not working Help I tried everything

Hello, David my name is oskayra I am an independent advisor and player like you I hope I can help solve your problem today

I understand your frustration with your Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset not having microphone monitoring working on your Xbox Series X. It's important to troubleshoot further before assuming hardware failure.

Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the microphone monitoring issue on your Xbox Series X:

    Update your Xbox and headset:

Xbox: Ensure your Xbox Series X is running the latest software update. Go to Settings > System > Updates and downloads.
Headset: Download and install the latest firmware update for your Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset through the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app.

    Double-check your settings:

    Xbox:
Go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.
Select your Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset.
Ensure "Microphone" is enabled and adjust the "Microphone monitoring" level to your preferred setting.
    Headset:
Check the headset's audio controls for any mute buttons or volume adjustments that might be affecting the microphone.

    Test your microphone:

Use the built-in microphone test feature on your Xbox to ensure your microphone is working properly. Go to Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories. Select your headset and choose "Test microphone."

    Disconnect and reconnect your headset:

Turn off your Xbox Series X and completely unplug your headset.
Wait for a minute, then plug your headset back in and turn on your Xbox.

Try a different controller or headset:

If possible, try using a different controller or headset to see if the microphone monitoring issue persists. This can help you isolate the problem to your headset or controller.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.

My HP laptop 14s-fq1xxx detects my recon 70 headset speakers but not the microphone for it.

    Hi amjad,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues using your headset's microphone when connected to your laptop. The best way to test this is to use a different earphone or headset with microphone and see if you'll be able to use the mic. If you'll experience the same issue, we can conclude that what you are experiencing is either a hardware or a software problem.

To further isolate your issue, make sure that your audio drivers are installed and updated to the latest. Go to your device manufacturer's page, look for your laptop's model and install the latest audio drivers. Once installed, try your headset again.

To set your microphone in Windows 11, go to Start > Settings > System > Sound, then under "Input" select your desired microphone from the list and set it as the default device if necessary; ensure you also check your privacy settings to allow apps access to your microphone.

    Regards,

    Alvaro
