Headset Microphone not working

Hello,

I recently bought a new controller and updated it in the devices/accessories area. Now my Xbox headset microphone isn't picking up my voice on my old or new controller, but I can hear people in a party/game chat. Please advise.

headset stopped workiing

hi headset stopped working bought new one not working tried everything on all websites headset works on phone perfect.powered down restarted, unplugged still says no microphone attached

Headset microphone not working

it couldn't be router settings for the issue I'm having all my headphones with inline mics don't work but anything with an actual mic works fine

ad the same problem I think, to my understanding when you talk in party/gamechat your circle doesn't move indicating you aren't talking. But you can hear people just fine. I have had this problem for months but have been out of xbox lately partly because
of it. My kinect works fine but I hate using it as it can be hard to hear people properly. As of now to my knowledge there is no fix. (I had a thread about it for a while had 40 or so post but kind of lost interest in keeping it up, and until they locked it
still had people messaging me on xbox asking for a fix).

Yea, but I don't have a Kinect. So that's not an option for me. Ugh.

Hey, I had this problem as well.

Turns out that my 2.5mm<->3.5mm cable stopped working.

Test your headset out on a cell-phone to see if it could possibly be that.

I ended up just using another one of the cables.

...if you don't have another, you can pick them up for a few bucks...pretty cheap

I'm using the normal headset, not one with an adapter cable.

Is the microphone for this headset in-line (on the actual headset cable)? I know for other headsets this means the microphone won't work for the Xbox One.

The microphone is muted, not the headset.

The headset and microphone works on another xbox and controller.

I have tried it on 2 controllers on the bone that is muted.

When I look up the Plantronics RIG 100HX it is a gaming headset not just a microphone so it is picking up that you plugged in a headset and making an adjustment.

Are you plugging in a gaming headset and only wanting the microphone to work on it?

Do you have a headset where this worked before? Or did you change headsets and since then the Microphone is muted?

There are two types of 3.5mm headphone jacks called OMTP and CTIA. On both standards, the microphone connector is switched with the ground connector. So if you have an OMTP headset, the controller is listening for a microphone on the ground connector, while
the microphone sends signals to the controller ground.

The headsets are compatible with the Xbox. I have used Xbox microphones as well as third party microphones that all work on other devices. I should also note that I can hear everything on the headset, but i cannot be heard on my headsets.
