    Headset Microphone not working: Xbox Series X


    I use my Logitech G935 with my xbox.

    I got two of the headsets and have tried using both audio cords that came with the headsets and one i brought at a random store.

    My xbox series X is not picking up the mic from the headsets.

    The headsets are powered on and also connected via dongle to my pc.

    My headsets also have full batteries. Headset and xbox and controller are all up to date. I have also restarted the console and pc.

    I have gone back trhough all my privacy settings on the xbox and everything is the same, allowing everyone to connect or message, etc.

    I havent changed any settings. Usually i just turn my pc on, plug in the cord to the controller and headphone jack, turn the headset on and everything works. But its not doing anything now, and i dont know what to do. The microphone still works with the pc.

    It sounds like there may be an issue with the microphone on your Astro A50 headset. However, we need to isolate the issue for us to conclude the issue to be for specific microphone.

    Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:



    1. Make sure the microphone is not muted. There is a button on the headset that allows you to mute and unmute the microphone.

    2. Check the microphone volume. There is a dial on the headset that allows you to adjust the volume of the microphone.

    3. Try resetting the headset. To do this, hold down the power button on the headset for 15 seconds, then release it.

    4. Check the connections. Make sure the headset is properly connected to the Xbox Series X.

    5. Try using a different USB port on the Xbox Series X.

    6. Test your Astro A50 headset on a phone or PC, see if you can record a voice message or else use it on your apps.

    6. Use different headphones to your console and test if issue happens.

    Xbox Wireless Headset Issues

    I had the exact same issue. Connected to the PC and phone, but not to my Xbox Series X. I had to return it to the store. The microphone light was ON even while I was in the store returning the headset.

    Hi, my name is Julian and I'm an Xbox gamer just like you. Let's try to solve your issue together.

    Please try these steps:

    1) Check the controller audio settings by going to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Party chat output, and make sure it’s set to Headset. Also check Audio > Headset mic is enabled.

    2) Do a hard reset on the controller. Press and hold the Xbox button on the controller for 10 seconds to turn it off.

    3) If the headset is connect to your PC via dongle, try unplugging the dongle or turn off the PC. Then plug the headset via 3.55mm jack into the Xbox controller.

    4) Try a different controller if you have one.

    5) I know you have said you have gone through privacy settings but let's run it again. Go to Settings > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer
