Headset Microphone NOT operating. POSSIBLE SOLUTION. SYSTEM BUG REPORT.

Hello. I have had an issue where my headset adapter and Chat headset microphones do not operate. I can hear my friends but they cannot hear me. If my Kinect Mic is on they will still hear me but the headset microphones will not work in all cases. I have
a possible solution:

I noticed if I power my system down and power the system up by turning on my controller first I don't seem to have this issue. If i use Xbox on(voice command) it wont allow the headset mic to boot up when I power my controller on soon afterwards. It is
some kind of bug. I would imagine that when the hardware starts to detect the different logic coded on the controllers that for some reason it times out when trying to boot up that operation. If the controller is the primary method of turning on your system
then you shouldn't have any issue. Let me know if this helps!

Possible solution to the headsets not working

So last night i was playing titanfall with a friend and the headset wasnt working correctly and I could only hear my friend through the television and not my headset at all. He could hear me so i assumed the headset mic was working and it was one of many
bugs. He was talking about a weird echo on my end he could hear so i decided to go into my settings and try to reupdate my controllers firmware because i am part of the beta updates. So i do that and i go around some other settings because that doesnt work
and i see the kinect microphone setting on, i turn it off and my friend cant hear me no matter how many times i plug up and unplug my headset it just will not work. I reset my console with the kinect microphone still off and the headset works perfectly now.
The kinect shouldnt find source over the headset and im thinking that the kinects microphone connecting before the headset is why its having so many problems.

Disable all your microphones/headset(especially which working through USB).

As an addition to this I should say that sign in using the controller and start a party using the controller first as well. Then everything after that is no problem. Only on a fresh boot that is.

This happens to me too, SOMETIMES (and I stress that, because it's less often that not) I can resync the controller and get it to work and SOMETIMES (same caveat) I can go to the kinect settings and toggle "use kinect for game chat" and get it to work. Otherwise
rebooting the console with the headset plugged into the controller always works.... such an annoyance and painful embarrassing for it being heir third console. I assume it's a bug but it's hard to search since you get so many stereo headset and 360 results.

Good luck you're at least getting it to work sometimes. Good thing we paid 30 for an adapter that works like crap

There are a few things you can do to fix game chat:

Check your audio settings. Make sure that your microphone and headphones/speakers are properly selected and enabled in both your game's audio settings and your system's audio settings.

I know this sounds crazy, but is it definitely not one of the other party member's headset / microphone having issues and causing a problem with the audio?

This did not work for me. In the end, I assigned the headset to the parent instead of the child, allowing the child to use the microphone when logged in.

In addition to this Xbox bug, it would be great to add a feature to permit testing the microphone similar to the way the controller permits testing its buttons. When there are so many possible ways for this to go wrong, it is frustrating to have very little
assistance from the console to narrow down the possibilities.

Yeah. It isn't the speaker but I just wanted you to try it as it could possibly fix any issue regarding chat mixer.

So you've also tried to perform a factory reset? If so, it may be a system bug because your headset works fine correctly and it just having trouble balancing your game audio and chat audio.

I recommend that you instead report it or file a bug to the Xbox team using the Report a problem app for them to investigate the issure properly.
