Headset mic works, but no audio

I'm having trouble finding a solution to my problem. The headset mic works just fine, but there is no audio. I've tried everything from the settings and looked up tutorials on chrome and youtube. Does anyone know how to fix this?

PS I'm using Xbox

xobx stereo headset adapter on PC

I have an older xbox one controller with no audio jack. I use it on a windows 10 PC. I purchased the stereo headset adapter however mic audio is not working. The PC sees both a headset and mic and I can hear audio through the headset. Mic audio seems as
if it's muted. I have tried multiple headsets, the controller was updated on my friends Xbox One but still get no audio. Chat rep said there's no mic audio at this time but it's coming soon? Is this true? Anyone else have an adapter and is it working normally?

Stereo Headset Microphone Issue

Update: A new headset I had ordered last week arrived, same issue, though it has separate mic/audio cables I have yet to get an adapter for, Audio cable worked, mic cable just made static while being plugged in/unplugged/twisted. Works flawlessly on my computer,
audio works on xbox, but mic won't work. I do not have access to a newer controller, and neither of my headsets are official Xbox One stereo headsets.

Good afternoon, do you have the chat adapter attached? If so you can adjust the sound on the controller. If you are using a newer controller with an audio plug built in you will need to adjust the sound from the settings menu by pressing the center "X"
button.

Also you can go settings --> display & sound --> volume and adjust it there. Also make sure your "output" is set correctly. Hope this helps.

I’ve changed the audio settings and even removed the headset mic from the headset but that doesn’t work

I doubt getting an answer for my hi-fi headphone - attachable mic - microsoft adapter problem as posted above. It probably would not work anyway. Maybe a compromise solution could be: PC headset with two 3.5mm jacks (audio + mic). The audio jack to the DAC,
mic jack to the adapter.

This might be the only way to get chat audio to the headset while maintaining superior game audio from the DAC. Check out the forthcoming Audio Technica ATH ADG1 PC headset.

Hi there, have you tried your headset mic in any other device, for example a smartphone or PC?

Try and check if your mic works.

Is it possible that the mic is broken? Have you tried checking if your audio is muted via party chat or on the headset Audio settings on your console?

your bluetooth headset with mic is designed for audio and talking via bluetooth, the cable that you can plug into your headset and then to the controller only enables audio not mic. lots of bluetooth headsets and headphones are the same, the option to plug in a cable is for audio only.
