Headset Mic randomly stopped working

I got in a support chat twice about my headset mic not working. Although I can hear, the mic just doesn't work at all. I was told to just wait a max of 24-48 hours and that it should befixed within that time frame. They also said that my issue was being
repoted by many others and that there was a service alert up about it, but I see that the service alert is about backwards compatibility, which doesn't relate to my issue. Also, I have tried different headsets and different controllers andit still doesn't
work. Anyone else know what I am missing, what I should do or does anyone else have similar issues.

Stereo headset randomly stopped working

My Stereo headset randomly stopped working last night. I was in a party with a few people, it was working fine, but at some point the mic just simply stopped working. I can still hear through the headset, but the mic won't pick anything up. Both of my controllers
are updated (I've tried both), console is up to date, I tried hard reset on the console, unplugging the power cord, waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in, deleting my account and redownloading it, deleting the alternate MAC address as I saw somebody
mention that as well.

I'm just confused as to why it'd be working then suddenly stop.

 

Hello i can answer this the fix is really easy your router is blocking your connection to the xbox live service

there is a fix

support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live

you will need your routers manual and a wired internet connection chat doesnt work well on wireless and also experiances issues while on dsl connections

 

Same exact thing with me , I have talked to many representatives I am speaking with a "supervisor" right now and they don't know what it is if you get any more information please message me I bought a brand new mic to see if that would fix it and it didn't
still can hear everything and everyone absolutely fine but my mic is not registering that my voice is coming through

 

mine has been down for over a month. i have talked to reps i have done all the steps. i even did a reset to factory. i am sure it is an error with a patch update. until they find it, everyone will be complaining.

 

I have had the same exact problem with my headset. I can hear through the headset just fine, I just cannot talk with it. The green circle won't light up in party chat and I tried recording a message and nothing came out. Judging by older forum posts this
appears to have been an ongoing issue plaguing people for over a year now and Microsoft refuses to admit that it is a software issue and won't fix it.

 

Just got off chat with a rep for the same issue myself and went through every step including everything i could find elsewhere. just getting really annoyed with this currently being it was an intermittent issue but now seems to be permanent this time around,
has anyone had any luck yet?
