error code you gave us it would appear that something in the Xbox is having trouble connecting to something online. So, double check your

Privacy settings at > Setting > All settings > Personalization > My profile > Privacy settings > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer > Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites . However, you state that "he can hear friends
but mic not working". When you have the headset plugged into the controller, the Xbox should automatically recognize a compatible headset. And, in doing so it automatically makes Headset volume, Headset chat volume and Mic monitoring settings available right
at > Settings menu directly off the Home screen (kind of cool isn't it). At the top of the list of headset controls you will see Headset mic Off/On . Make sure Headset mic is set to On . Lets us know if you continue to have problems with your microphone or
headset.

I'm actually having the same problem since the update. Party chat, both in game (Neverwinter) and Xbox's Party Chat app, disconnects the mic on my headset. The headset and mic both work in party chat before someone joins but as soon as someone connects with
me they hear me for only a second and then it disconnects my mic. I've hosted the party, I've had others host the party, makes no difference. It's not muted. It works fine in Skype. I've tried partying with different users. I've tried updating the controller
and headset adapter but no updates available. I've tried different controllers. I've tried different headsets as well and the only headset that will work is the crappy one that came with the Xbox. I've hard reset the console. I've booted it up with headset
already plugged in then signed in w/controller (instead of kinect) then loaded into my game and still same issue. I've gone into every setting imaginable and still no go. Any help would be immensely appreciated.

May I know what exactly happens when you join game chat? Does your mic work fine in party chat?
Is your headset/mic connected directly to your PC or through your Xbox controller?
What's your headset/mic make & model?

It works fine with a headset its only when your in game chat rather than a party chat whoever is using the Kinnect cannot be heard by the others on cross platform but mic and headset no work problems. My friend has the Kinnect but no headset there in lies
the problems.
