    Go new xbox one set up and started playing with gaming headset. After about two weeks suddenly xbox not picking up microphone and headset. when plugged into the controller i don't here friends through headset they are through tv? i have tried recreating
    a new profile for controller it will let me create new one but won't allow me to put in in a slot and so stays on default. ive tried audio settings etc etc nothing working!

    Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to help.

    Making a new profile from the controller in the Accessories app won't help much because that is primarily for button mapping, but in the same app select the three dots and then go to volume. Is it greyed out?

    Does your headset plug in via the 3.5mm audio jack? If so, the issue may be the port itself if the controller not picking up the headset anymore. We'll need to test the headset and mic on a different device to make sure the headset is working fine. Try it
    on a laptop or mobile device and confirm that the headset and mic work.

    Try it on another controller if you have one or borrow one if you can for testing purposes.

    Let us know this information so we can narrow down the issue.

    My control does not recognize my headphone. It worked some weeks but after some time sttoped. The headphone is new and works fine in other devices. The headphone iccon does not appear in the screen.

    Plug the mic into yhe controller and then plug the controller in to the xbox and check for an update in settings
