Headset mic is not working - audio options are grayed out

If it didn't work, try using a headset and performing this configuration.

Main button, go to the right on the system tab, and then enter the Audio option!

See if the mic is activated

And then put the 3 bars all in the middle, to test (if you have one in gray, blocked, let me know)

Yes, the optic out will work for sending the game audio to your headset.....another option for mic is to use the included mic by putting it around your neck with the mic bent up to the side of your jaw while wearing your TB headsets.

while the headset is plugged press the Xbox button, slide across to the settings gear, click audio, there should be an option for audio and inside audio click headset mic and set it to on.

This should be the reason, if not let me know and ill try to work something else out.

your bluetooth headset with mic is designed for audio and talking via bluetooth, the cable that you can plug into your headset and then to the controller only enables audio not mic. lots of bluetooth headsets and headphones are the same, the option to plug in a cable is for audio only.

I doubt getting an answer for my hi-fi headphone - attachable mic - microsoft adapter problem as posted above. It probably would not work anyway. Maybe a compromise solution could be: PC headset with two 3.5mm jacks (audio + mic). The audio jack to the DAC,
mic jack to the adapter.
