    Headset Mic Doesn’t Work On Home Xbox


    We have 2 xbox(s), an xbox one s and an xbox. I have the live gold membership tied to my MS account and also 2 child accounts are tied to my “family”.

    The xbox one s is our “home” xbox and it is set to signin my child automactically. Yes, his account is a child account within my “family”. There are minimal restrictions for this child account.

    In order for him to talk through his headset, he must signin to my account, then switch back to his account. If he does not do this, he can only hear through the headset, not talk because no one hears him.

    Can anyone provide some insight as to why my account must be signed into the HOME xbox in order for other players to hear him?

    It wasn’t always like this, I believe it started about 2 months ago.

    Mic works in party chat but not in game on Fortnite. Software has been updated.

    It would seem that if the Xbox is switched on with the headset connected it works fine but if the headset is plugged in after start up the mic doesn’t work in game mode.

    We are having a similiar issue. On our 4th headset (thinking that was the problem, although current and #3 had sound when plugged into another device) and the controller is not recognizing the headset. Controller is up to date with new batteries.
