MIC ISSUE!! I have a turtle beach wireless headset for my xbox one, and so do several of my friends, ever since the annoying Cortana update out mics will cut out randomly...we can be heard but con not hear anyone else...game sound still works but voice
does not...we thought it was ESO but it's happened in other games as well same issue I can be heard but can't hear friends...we hav tried unplugging power to the headset supply and replug but moments later the issue returns...tried rebooting and unplugging
system complete for a few minutes but issue remains...the only way to fix is to unplug my nice $250 headset and use the junk chat mic that came with the system...I've had the system and headset for almost 2 years and the day the dumb corntana updates comes
out I hav problems....is there anything that I haven't tried that can fix this issue...again wireless mic, never a problem...Cortana comes, now probplems...is anybody else experiencing this as well?

    :)

    Headset Issues

I'm having issues with talking on Xbox live. One day I was able to talk with my headset and the next I can't. I have tried different headsets and mic adapter, tried Xbox support and still nothing. My NAT has always been moderate and could talk with no issues. I can hear people but they can't hear me. I was told they hear only echoes on their end. I can't figure out how to forward my ports and seems like my internet provider can't either. I have no idea what to do and it is pretty frustrating. This is a brand new controller of less that year. The icon shows I have a headset in when plugged and shows when its unplugged. Does anyone have any suggestions or can help? Thanks.

    Hey there ReaperzBlade,

We've not seen any traffic on this particular issue, but I'm happy to try some steps with you to see if we can narrow this down. First off, let's make sure the controller is fully up to date with these steps.

    Update your Xbox One controller
    .

If that doesn't work, go ahead and try to disable Cortana and see if that helps out.Go to: Settings > System > Cortana Settings. From this screen you’ll have the option to Disable Cortana.

If that doesn't work, can you try to use the headset with a different controller and see if that helps out?

Let us know how it goes!

Yeah none of that works:/ wireless mic isn't connected to the controller...the cheap chat mic works fine so I'm not sure how the controller would effect the wireless headset...that's that only thing xbox ambassador said to do...I'm just curious if that cortana
voice commands through headsets that has messed with certain brands of headsets...cause even though it it's disabled it's still a ability that has been added to the mic function

  6. Which model Turtle Beach headset are you using? Is the headset plugged into the controller using a stereo headset adapter, or is directly connected with a 3.5mm chat cable?

You should be able to use Cortana commands using a headset, though the headset needs to be connected via 3.5mm cable.

Have you happened to check the setting for it?

I haven't, but the wireless connects direct, not through the controller, so I dont think that's it? I will try though!

Just to edit and add something - all 3 controllers we have work perfectly otherwise. It just seems to be a problem with reading that the headset is attached.
