Headset issues

I have two chat headsets, one with the older stereo adapter permanently connected to it, a headset with 3.5mm, and I have a regular headset with a 3.5mm headset cable to connect between it and the controller. When I connect these to the controller I can
see the volume controls for a headset in settings, the mute button is not on, but I can't get any sound out of it.

I just want game sound through a headset connected to the controller. Any ideas?

Headset Issues

I'm having issues with talking on Xbox live. One day I was able to talk with my headset and the next I can't. I have tried different headsets and mic adapter, tried Xbox support and still nothing. My NAT has always been moderate and could talk with no issues. I can hear people but they can't hear me. I was told they hear only echoes on their end. I can't figure out how to forward my ports and seems like my internet provider can't either. I have no idea what to do and it is pretty frustrating. This is a brand new controller of less that year. The icon shows I have a headset in when plugged and shows when its unplugged. Does anyone have any suggestions or can help? Thanks.

Could you go to Settings>All Settings>Kinect & Devices>Devices & Accessories and make sure that both your controller and headset are assigned to your profile? Once this is done, see if there's sound coming through the headset.

Funny thing. My bluetooth headset doesn't work but I tried an old headset and it does. Guess it isn't compatible.

 

To my knowledge most Bluetooth headsets will not work, but that may vary by model. The Xbox One has no Bluetooth radio, so you cannot connect by Bluetooth direct to it, and I don't think it supports a Bluetooth USB dongle to connect either, but there *are*
some wireless headsets that (though I don't think they're Bluetooth) that will work. You might want to check with the headset manufacturer if the headset is meant to be compatible with Xbox One; if they don't make specific note of it being made to be compatible,
it's probably fair to assume it's not.

 

I was using a 3.5mm cable to connect the headset but since it has talk capabilities perhaps the system considers it a chat headset so I don't get game audio.
