Headset issues & more

Yesterday I was due to take part in the second round of the Forza Nation Championship of France, I played in the first round with no issues but yesterday when my host added me to a party it opened the chat window as though I was trying to start a party
not as though I was the one who was invited. I tried several times to restart my Xbox but with the same result. I contacted the Championship organiser and he then invited me to a separate party to discuss the issue with the same result, I couldn't join.

I checked all my settings with my NAT open etc nothing else was amiss, eventually knowing the races were over I gave up and decided to have a go on multiplayer which is when I noticed my microphone wasn't working. Today I have spent several hours trying
to find a solution and tested it in party chat but it still won't work. When I go on party chat the green icon next to my name lights up but within Forza I can neither hear or talk to anybody. I have followed the trouble shooting guides online and made sure
my kinect microphone isn't set as my default one but still nothing. I don't know if these issues are linked but after spending 2 weeks deciding on cars and setup and practising the tracks I was supposed to race I'm pretty fed up with Microsoft/Turn10, when
I bought my Xbox it was because it was supposed to be a smooth experience that all worked together but together with other various niggly problems I'm having I'm starting to wish I hadn't bothered.

i really hope that somebody on here can advise me of a solution or at least point me in the right direction, thank you for reading.

Controllers...

They use, different logic boards (Different Circuitry) in the Black Controllers now..

But, the black controllers, are backwards compatible with the white consoles etc..

(It does, have some issues with the detection of the headset in games though & will show the headset icon, even though the headset isn't plugged in)

 

Adapter/Headset issues persist after April update

I'm not having ant audio issues but I'am having some connection issues as well as having to power cycle & reconnect the controller every time i use my turtle beach headset so that the play & charge kit will charge the battery.

Tried updating loads of times, no change.
