    Headset isn't working after Connecting Alexa


    This week I connected my Alexa as a digital assistant for my XBox. Prior to this connection, the headset worked perfectly fine with my XBox and I was able to participate in game and party chats, and just listen to through the stereo headset. But after connecting
    I can not use my headset to listen/participate in anything.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Would this be from the XBox disabling something once the digital assistant is connected or would this be a problem within my controller and headset? I have hard reset both the Xbox and Controller, updated firmware, and have
    unpaired/paired the Alexa multiple times without success.

    Any suggestions would be great, thank you.

    Hey Alex,

    Thank you for responding. From what I can see on here, your headset stopped working after pairing up your Alexa to your Xbox even with quite a bit of troubleshooting. I'd like for you to try performing a factory reset on your Xbox while keeping your games
    and apps by doing the following:

    1. Press the Xbox button
      to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console.
    Make sure you have your email and password as you will be asked to sign back in. Once this is completed, you will be asked to setup your preferences and settings again, make sure not to touch Alexa until you are able to test out your headset. If it works,
    awesome; try pairing Alexa again and see if maybe that is the cause of this. If you are still unable to use your headset, go to your main home screen. On the top right, there will a couple icons along with a digital clock. Let us know how the headset icon
    looks (lit up or with a line going through it). This is indicating if the headset is being detected at all by the Xbox. Hope this helps! We will eagerly await your response! :D

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
    the console.

    Others have said that using the headset adapter resolves a lot of issues with the headsets. I use one on my controllers and have never had the issues. I also have mine connected to Alexa.

    I disconnected the Alexa from the xbox and the headset still does not work. In network settings, it says that my NAT is moderate and UPnP is not successful. But I live in a college apartment where I can not make many changes to the network settings.

    I went through all of those steps for the XBox reset and still in the top right there was a headset icon with a line through it. I am not sure what to do next. Does this indicate that the problem is with the remote or headset, and not with the Alexa connection?

    Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you're having issues with your headset no longer functioning after you've connected Alexa to your console. It may not be because of that that the headset is acting up. When
    you unpair Alexa and turn your console off and back on does the headset still not function correctly? Can you check your Network settings and check to see what your NAT type is saying. Let us know with a reply how it goes to determine how to best assist you.
