    Headset help.

Got the headset that came with Xbox was total junk and chat gave up after 3 weeks with crackly wire. Then bought the 60 quid stereo headset was gutted to see it had exactly same cable as free/cheap headset needless to say it broke too after 4 weeks despite
being well looked after. My question is can you get wireless 100% on the xb1 yet price don't matter please advise if you know of any fully wireless as anything with a cable including turtle beach seems junk.

    :)

    Headset help

Hey guys I've been trying to figure out how to make my a40's work correctly on the Xbox one and I am stumped.

The issue is the chat, I plug the headset into the mixamp for game volume and it's beautiful, but as soon as I plug in the 2.5 to 3.5 mm cable from the mixamp to the controller for the microphone the audio quality just gets shitty, more muffled and just not clear. The mixamp is updated, it just sucks not using your mic on rainbow 6 cause it distorts the game volume so much.

Anyone have this issue or possibly fixed it? Thanks

The reason this is happening is because once you use the 2.5 to 3.5 mm cable to your controller your entire headset goes from using the mixamp to produce sound to using stereo sound from the controller. Im pretty sure this can be fixed by tweaking audio output settings in the Xbox to not use game sound through the controller. I dont have this headset to know 100% for sure if thats the case but this sounds like a very familiar issue Ive seen.

I think these are the 2 things you need to fix.

Display and sound > Optical audio > Select Bitstream out.

Display and sound > Bitstream format > Select Dolby Digital

I've got the stereo headset mate and its fine. Had to update the controllers a couple of times to get everything working properly though.

Yeah its fine till the cheap wires go then its done and its the same quality as a 15 quid headset in regards to wires. Why are these forums so bad does anyone know of active Xbox forums worth using.

Always makes me chuckle when someone says they take care of something then have that something repeatedly break, when others with the same item dont seem to have that issue. Just saying.

  7. I know there are Turtle Beaches that are compatible via the adapter but other than that I don't know much. Not sure if some are wireless ect..

As for the forums. There are worth using, they are just a little quiet. Maybe you might find more traffic over in the general sections (use the drop down along the top) or head to the forum directory.

Sorry to highjack your thread but i am having a problem with chat, i have only just got the adapter and my controller is already updated. So am connecting my PX5's to the controller but i can't hear anyone talking in PvZ? i can see the mic symbol move and
the name comes up top left of in game screen but i can't hear anything even took the adapter out and still nothing through headset or tv speakers?

Also why have the game audio coming through the chat cable when i already have it coming through optical? i have turned it down but just seems stupid as it causes an echo effect.

There are no wireless solutions to game chat at this time. I have owned a few pairs of Turtle Beach wired products and there is nothing wrong with the quality of the wires provided they are looked after, and by that i mean realising that the controller
is connected to the headset, if your a fairly animated player and jerk the controller around a lot eventually the wired connection will give up the fight against the strain.

The official £60 headset works well for me. It's not totally wire free, but it only has the small wire between you and the joypad and plays all game and chat audio.

I've not had any problems with quality, in fact it looks better made in the flesh than the pictures online.

(I like the way the mic hides away.)

As a bonus, it also works well with my Windows phone!

I have the same problem. the wired headset is only about 1 month old and I have to yell into the mic to get my friends to hear me. The whole idea is to be able to communicate with other players online and I can't !

I need help too. Is there a way to get a replacement ?

    Headset Help?

what kind of headset..if its the one that come with the xbox it has nothing to do with reciever on the console. Since its hooked up through one connection..the headset is either bad or you dont have the setting set up correctly in the 360 set up section.
Is it a headset you need the old dongle thats no longer available or is it something else. Please be more specific.

Well lets put it this way, I take extremely good care of my electronics including headsets, I've owned two different pairs of Turtle Beaches don't remember the models but one was the sixty dollar one, and the other was the two hundred dollar wireless one,
both of them broke within three months, I bought a Tritton Trigger about five months ago had no problems with them, so in my experience albeit limited experience Tritton is miles better than Turtle Beaches.

What you guys need to really do is get yourself the Astro mixamp so you can buy a good pair of headphones. I'm not really fond of Tritton or Turtle Beach and you are paying for hype more than anything since Turtle Beach pays Gamestop and Best Buy to display
these things making people think they are the best. Thats the problem with 3rd party accessories marketed firca console. they are usually not any good. The mixamp is quite an investment at 130.00 but the thing will last forever and then you can buy great headphones
    for under 100.00.
