Headset game chat issue

Hi, I run a steel series 9x and Audeze Penrose head set for gaming but if I use party chat I become unable to use game chat, not just for that session but entirely unless I reset everything which is tedious and honestly stupid. Why does this keep happening and how can it be resolved properly as I happens every time, resetting can not be the answer.

Thanks for the reply!

I should have stated that these are wireless headsets, but I have tried the suggested Fixes for those and the issue keeps repeating itself on 2 separate headsets. I can only assume this issue lies withing the Xbox itself as both headsets are designed specifically for Xbox and haven't been able to find a fix for this for over a year.

The same thing happened to me with the bundled headset. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I did read that when your batteries are going it will shut down rumble and other functionality so you can still play. The problem is it doesn't tell you
when your batteries are low and I've had this happen with fresh batteries.
