Headset echoing and playing internal sounds

I have been using the same headset for over a year now, and just recently in the past month my friends say that it has been echoing and picking up game sound. I havent changed my settings, or had TV volume on, but for some reason recently its started echoing. This happens if I'm muted or not, and it will play the sounds in the Xbox Party or in game chat. It picks up sounds here and there, mainly including any callouts the announcers make, music while games load up, or even sudden bursts of sounds like firing a weapon in a FPS game. Ive tried restarting the Xbox, lowering the headset volume, lowering the mic monitering, buying a new headset, using a different controller, and none of these seemed to help. It will still pick up game sounds and the only way to stop it is unplugging headset or hard muting myself, is there a way to fix this? (On a Xbox One S)

Hello ReadPhur, outside of the procedures you have already performed I believe there is nothing to do, I even have echo in some games and parties that I enter, and it happens more in games that are cross-plataform, and it happens when I play with my friends in that they are on playstation for example.

Before you spend money on other headsets, have you reviewed the settings for your console audio output? My headset can sound like it has an echo, because I need the streaming card to pick up party sounds, but there is an option to turn that off.

In Settings > Display & Sound > Volume there is an option for "Party Chat Output" I have to set mine to Headset & Speakers, but if I just set it to Headset or just Speakers, then I don't have that echo at all. I would recommend checking that out, as it
might save you some money, but then again, your headset might just echo.

Your headset is probably picking up the party sound causing it to echo or there's a loose connection

I use hyperX Cloud 2 because it is a decent headset without it sounding bad and it does not have an echo.

As I understand you are experiencing echo issues with your party.

First, please make sure that you are using the boom mic with the headset. Using the internal mic can cause an echo issue at higher volumes with Xbox One.

If people in your party are complaining about hearing their voice echo back or strange squawk type noises, first try adjusting your "Headset Volume" in the Xbox Guide down one notch from maximum.

If you hear everyone else in your party echo when in party chat, it is likely due to the Xbox One being set to output party chat audio to both speakers and the headset at the same time.

To change this setting:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Select Display & sound.
Select Volume.
Select Party chat output
Select Headset

You should no longer hear the echo.
