Headset Discussion

Hey Everyone,

I know a lot of us are preparing for Titanfall and the first line of headsets just came out. I also have seen a ton of posts asking questions about them. Thought this would be a good sounding board for people looking for info. I just purchased the TB XO
Fours and have a full video review posted on my upload studio on XBOX Live so check that out but I'll toss a little info here and some links.

I went with the XO Fours because from all my research the Fours and the Sevens have all the same audio stats, the price jump comes from comfort and style add ons. The XO Fours will run you 99.99 which is only a slight bump over MSFT's 89.99 for their version.

These are Stereo Headsets that are pushing a simulated version of 5.1, but so far I've been pleased in both shooters (COD) and adventure games (Ryse and AC4), the only hic up I had was during Forza I had some popping in and out in one race. Everyone has
said they could hear me just fine and I'm loving being able to change in game / Voice volume on the fly with the new stereo adapter.

They will come with the Headset, detachable Mic, and the Stereo adapter.

I hope anyone else that has picked up some Polks or the XO Sevens or the MSFT ones will chime in. So we can get some info out their cause their seems to be a ton of confusion and lack of reviews.

Community Discussion Forums. Since this is a support forum, most of the folks here are looking to help with Xbox issues. The community discussion forums would have a better chance of someone being able to recommend a headset for you.

I bought the MS stereo headset from the MS store & got them on 2/27/14 for the xbox one. They are $79.99 & come with the stereo adapter (includes micro USB cord). I do the Bing rewards program , so before the purchase i got a 5% discount code for the MS
store bringing the price down to $75.99. The MS store ships for free. I am happy with them so far. There are no baterries, they get their power from your controller. The only hook up is a wire from the headset to your controller, so installation takes 20
seconds. Everything is controlled through the adapter (chat/game, master volume & mute), there are no buttons on the headset, which makes for quick adjustments that don't take your eyes off the screen. The head band , & ear cups are comfortable. The headband
also feels less likely to break where the ear cups attach (2 turtle beach sets have broken here in the past). The sound is great, bass is especially good. I would say at least as good as my turtle beach x11's & x42's. My turtle beach bop2 tango's( $300 list
price) are louder and just as clear, but for $ 80 the MS set will do fine. While i recommend buying these, my biggest con is that you cannot hear your own voice through the headphones.

 

I bought the Turtle Beach XO7s. While I'm happy with the game sound and the fit of the headset, the lack of mic monitoring is very frustrating. I'm hoping Microsoft will address this in a future update. If not the XO7s are a waste of money. You can get
headsets at half the price that will perform just as well.

 

anyone have a titan fall controller and the Titanfall headsets not work with it? I have two Titanfall controllers and the head set will not work for both of them

 

Did you update your controller withe adapter & headset plugged in ? If not u will find the option under settings.
