  1. Headset disconnecting my controller from console

I’m having a problem using my headset while gaming. Basically what is happening is when I plug my headset/mic into my controller (auxiliary) , it works great for a while, and then all of the sudden it will disconnect my controller from my Xbox... the remote
is on still but my screen is saying to connect a controller. I reconnect it and it will work again, but then my mic won’t work at all. And if I try and re plug it in, sometimes it will work, most of the time is doesn’t at all, but even if it does work for
a second it just disconnects the remote again. I’ve tried troubleshooting everything I can. The headset works fine listening to music on my phone. I’ve tried switching out the auxiliary cord, tried on different remotes, and I even bought an adapter piece for
the remote and the same thing happens. I don’t want to go and buy a new headset if it’s just going to do the same thing. The headset and mic work fine and it’s clearly a gaming headset (monster - EA sports edition).. so I’m not sure where to go from here

    :)

  2. Audio popping and crackling in headphones

There isn't a router between my controller and console and I don't think neighbours' routers' would cause interference if that's what you're getting at since my router is closest anyway.

I'm really confused. I was using a Turtle beach audio controller with my headset. I unplugged that and plugged the headset directly to the controller and that seemed to lessen the popping. So does interference cause popping and crackling? When I move my
controller really far away from my console, my headset starts to crackle before disconnecting so you could be right.

    Day One Controller Faulty?

This disconnection issue is really rather confusing. Clearly many of you have had this fixed either by firmware, replacement console or controller.

I had a replacement console where my Day One controller still disconnected so that went back - the replacement also had issues with discs.

Now I had a standard controller that I used frequently for 5mths with no disconnections. As mentioned, that too has now experienced a disconnection so I am feeling at a loss now. The only thing that has changed with my setup, is I have the Xbox One Stereo Headset, and the standard controller disconnection occurred when the headset was connected. So there's that, or it could be the recent Preview update.

I also did some googling and found this topic with comments on controller disconnections and Stereo Headset crackling and buzzing which I am in the process of getting the Stereo Headset replaced.

Testing done on the Xbox One controller wireless range using all three battery types: Play N' Charge, AA disposable and AA rechargeable. BONUS: Compared to 360 controller wireless range. : xboxone

According to the comments the buzzing sound can indicate wireless interference, which may also be the issue with the controller disconnections.

Yes, I have a wireless router and cordless phone in the same room. Maybe that is doing something, but it still doesn't explain why the standard controller would suddenly start disconnecting, unless having the headset connected makes it more prone to interference?

Really at a loss. PS4 is fine, Stereo Headset was fine on PS4 with no buzzing noises.

Xbox Series X controller disconnection, specific

I have the same issue! Most of the times it happens when my headsets disconnects because of dead battery and I plug in a cord from controller to headset. It’ll cause my console to lose connection to both my controllers.

Wired controller keeps disconnecting after every arm movement

    Greetings Sly Impact.

I'm sorry that you are facing problems with your controller. Please let me try to help you.

Please try to follow the steps listed bellow and see if you can solve the problem.

    Solution 1: Restart your console
Turn your console off, wait a minute, and then turn it on again.

Disconnect and reconnect the controller's USB connector is firmly to the console connector. If this does not solve the problem, your controller will need to be replaced.

Solution 2: Disconnect all controllers and headsets
If all four rings surrounding the power button on the console are green but the controller has four flashing green lights, four controllers might already be connected to the console. Disconnect all of the controllers, and then try to connect the controller
    with the problem.

    • To disconnect a wireless controller, press and hold the Xbox Guide button for three seconds, and then turn the controller off.
    • To disconnect a wireless headset, turn the headset off.
    • To disconnect a wired controller or headset, unplug its cable from the console.
To learn more about connecting your wireless controller, please read the following Knowledge Base article:

If your controller is still not working, try the next solution.

    Solution 3: Replace your controller
If your controller still does not work correctly, it might need to be replaced. Please contact Xbox support at the following address:
