Headset Crackling/stuttering while playing games

Hello, So when i start up Modern Warfare and try and play the game my headset starts cracking and has some static. When I move my analog sticks around it gets worse and starts to cut out. When i try and hit the home button it lags and takes a while for it
to come up. I've had it plugged in via USB to the Xbox and even to the wall. I've tried using batteries and nothing works. When i wait a an hour or so it goes away then comes back later that day. This has been happening for about a week now and i have searched
everywhere without a solution. can anyone help me? I have a Xbox one TB. Thank you.

Edit: I have tried restarting my Xbox and hard resetting it. Nothing has worked.

no i dont, which sucks id really like to not spend another $60 on a controller just trying to find a solution without having to haha

I have it wired to my controller. I have tried 2 different headsets.

Do you have a different controller you can try. It could be a problem with the headphone jack in the controller.

It is possible there is a short in the wire itself. That would explain the crackling noise your getting.

If you're still looking to try any other options you could try going to the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox. The app gives you more options and settings for your controller and sometimes you can even update controllers. I would try this before anything
else and if you've been having problems with the controller buttons then there is a button tracking feature that tells you which button your pressing when you press it on your controller. (good for telling if you have broken buttons on a controller) To get
to this app go to Settings > Devices and Streaming > Accessories
