Headset/Controller/Kinect Issue?

I just bought an Xbox One on the 20th and have a similar problem to you guys. I don't have a Kinect.

I've not had any issues with the headset/mic working or not working.....it picks up my voice when I talk.

However...when I first turned on the console and set it up, I was being told the headset was plugged in when it wasn't. I plug it in and it works fine. I unplug it and the icon vanishes for a second before reappearing.

I've had the controller replaced and the same problem persists.

I sat for an hour with Microsoft tech support and we updated the controller, checked the Kinect settings to make sure it wasn't registering one and we even did a factory reset and that didn't solve it.

I'm not going through another avenue with Game's tech support and if they can't fix it they'll give me a code I can give the store to get a replacement console.

I just wondered if anyone had actually found a solution for this yet??

So my chat headset that came with my new Xbox One (Cod AW bundle) will literally not fit in the controller

Here is a guide of how to Kinect the headset.

Other than not aligning the prongs up, there are no issues.

Controller keeps registering a headset.

I'm having a problem with my wireless controller as it keeps registering a wired headset. I have not plugged in the headset in over four months and now after I connected it the speaker icon still appears next to my gamertag in the party chat menu with no
headset or Kinect plugged in. I can't use my Kinect to voice chat anymore since it still reads a headset. If I use a different controller the icon disappears and I can now chat with my Kinect if it is connected.

Anyway to fix this aside from using a different controller?

If you can hear people through your mic but they aren't hearing you, it's normally because the controller with the mic plugged in doesn't know which profile is using it.

Try one of these two suggestions:

Position yourself so kinect can see your face and the controller in your hands.
After signing in, go to the home screen and select your little profile icon on the top left next to notifications. Then select Choose this person on your profile.

Hey sniffles x! Thanks for the suggestion. I had tried that as well. I bought a third mic to see if that worked and it did. Dunno what happened but I'm still gonna send in the original broken one to Microsoft in case this happens again. I appreciate your

I had a similar issue and made a thread about it no too long ago. This happened to me last night and I was holding my controller at weird angles so I could talk but that wouldn't last for more than a minute. Bought a new headset, no luck. Bought a new controller,
tested both old and new mics, no luck. Called Microsoft and they said they'd replace the mic for me as long as I ship them the old mic and pay the shipping fee. The support tech said it was the mic, but I find it absurd that I'd get 2 faulty mics in a row.
This isn't my first time having X1 issues too. Like bruh ...
