    Headset / Controller issues


    Hi All,

    Please assist as this is driving myself and kids crazy. We have bought recently an Xbox One S. The Controllers was working fine with the headsets and the family was happy. Then it started the first controller headset wouldn't reconise in the controller.
    Then recently the next controller, so now it shows the Mic picture with a line through it. I have tried everything and tried to google how to fix it.

    I want to take the controllers back but i know they will ask for the console and everything as both controllers came with the console.

    I do not have the box anymore and i can see this is a common issue with Xbox. I have done the following troubleshooting.

    1. Tested Headset they work fine

    2. Hardreboot on device

    3. Reconfigured controllers

    4. Cleared the Network address

    6. Removed Profile

    7. Removed Batteries of controller

    8. Checked for latest firmware version (All up to date)

    9. Got a friends remote to test and that picked up fine (indicating its a controller issue)

    10. checked privacy setting and Mic is on

    11, checked party and everyone is set to hear.

    My problem, is that what guarantee can i get if i go and buy a new controller i wont have the same issue in 1 month time.

    How can i get my controllers fixed as they are only 3 months old and they work perfect except the headphone side.

    How can it just stop working?

    Is there something i have left off that i can try.

    Xbox controller reset

    Try to use the headset to another controller.

    If your headset works to another controller, then it is an issue with your controller that might need to be replaced or repaired.

    You can try first to use another headset to the controller ( the one where your headset it not working ) to see if it is an issue with the headset.

    Hi Hassan!

    There's a possibility that the issue may be on your controller headset jack. To further isolate the issue, try to use a different controller with your headset. Maybe your controller headset jack needs cleaning.

    Will need some more info, what is the make and model of the headset

    Has this worked the past.

    Does the headset portion work correctly, in other words do you just have an issue with the mic.

    Can you try another controller, or better yet try using the headset on a friends xbox or take it to gamestop

    If the headset works on another controller then it may be an issue with the controller or console, if this headset does not work with another controller, then it may be an issue with the headset.

    Not all headsets are supported with the xbox

    It could be that the headset is faulty now or that the jack in the controller itself is the issue. How old is the headset and controller ? What brand is the headset ?

    This will identify if it is the headset itself or the controller that is the issue
