is there a place to plug a wired headset directly into the Xbox One and just get chat sound ( no game sound included)? for example, can I plug a USB headset directly into the console for chat only?
no reason it can't be done using wifi direct
Other than there being no Wi-Fi Direct headsets.

kinda my point, they should make a wifi direct headset for the X1 and since Wifi Direct has so much bandwidth and range, they can have the full audio + chat sent wirelessly to the headset

3. Controller connection resets after unplugging Play & Charge cable while controller is being used

Hey,

By design the Xbox one charge cable creates a direct connection to the console unlike the xbox360.

This means the wireless connection is disabled and the wired connection is enabled.

The headset is directly influenced by either connection.

When you unplug the wire, the controller is forced to establish a wireless connection. Once established wirelessly all functions need to be re established.

Your experience is by design

Headset connection direct to console?

is there a place to plug a wired headset directly into the Xbox One and just get chat sound ( no game sound included)? for example, can I plug a USB headset directly into the console for chat only? The reason being, if there's a USB port that i can use
to get chat only, I've found a USB adapter that'll allow you to connect it to a Bluetooth headset. Hence, I can have a simple mono headset that gives me chat only and I can get surround sound from my surround set up without having to hear people through my
speakers or have people hear conversations that occurr in my family room between people. They also don't need to be assaulted by the vulgarity of gamers. I'm trying to replicate the Xbox 360 headset experience.

I see there's a port on the controller to get just chat - no game audio.

It said I can hook up Amy headset with a 3.5 mm jack to it. I assume,Ed I could connect this to the controller. Then connect my 3.5mm wired headset to this to hear just team chat. Is that right or should I just connect the 3.5mm wired headset directly to
the controller for team chat?

I don't like the headset that came with the console/ controller because it's so big. I just want a tiny headset like the 360 wireless headset was. So if I hook up a 3.5mm headset directly to the controller or via the stereo headset adapter ( which one?)
will I get mono team chat via the headset ( Kinevt will be unplugged) and game sound through my surround sound? I hate having conversations that occurr in my family room to be heard and either mocked or commented on- so Kinevt is out for chat. I have a 5.1
surround system hooked up so I don't want to hear people scream at the top of their lungs, as some do, through my speakers. Since Xbox sucks and has no headset like the wireless 360 headset, what are my options? I bought a wired 3.5 mm headset snd the headset
adapter, since idk what I need to use a wired headset? Csn I plug a wireless 360 official headset into the Xbox one controller with the cord that would lead to the power adapter, or is there a way to make the wireless 360 headset a wired one that'll be compatible
with the Xbox one controller?

Xbox Series X and Xbox App on PC Audio Issue

Hi Tanner,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! Is the Astro headset the only headset you have been using with your console? If so, have you tried a direct wired connection to your controller without the use of the mixamp?

Wireless controller - Bluetooth vs. Wireless Adapter

Like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct, Xbox Wireless enables controllers and select headsets to establish a direct wireless connection with the console, while avoiding
the complexities that come with adapters or physical cabling.
