Headset chat adapter

I continued to use my turtle beach ear force delta headset when transitioning to Xbox one, when they became available I bought a chat adapter from a third party who did the mod, and sold it online. After a while, I started to get a loud crackling in the
headset when I was in a party, so I bought a new chat adapter that came in Microsoft packaging, and things were working great again....until I moved.

Now when in a party, I cannot hear anyone, but all my friends can hear me. I have done the controller update with the adapter plugged in, I have adjusted every volume control I can find, nothing.

However when I use the chat headset that came with the console, it works fine, it's just very uncomfortable to wear under my other headset.



I bought a new headset (astro a30's) thinking that might help, and I get chat for a little bit, then it goes away. I get maybe 20 seconds of chat for every 5 minutes.

This leads me to believe the problem lies with the chat adapter, and I really don't want to buy my third one in less than 2 years. Is this a Microsoft product, or is someone else making this poor quality adapter, and Microsoft selling it as their own?

Headset mod for turtle beach, astro , triton etc

buy the chat adapter, then spend a few more quid buying the relevant bits to link it all in to the chat adapter as it will give you both chat and audio for your headset anyway, adapter is £20 then maybe another £5 to link the bits in, cheaper than a new headset

 

question about the mini-hdmi port on the xbox-one controller....

it is just an expansion slot for headset chat adapter or chat pad adapter.
