Headset audio problems

I got a 360 S a few weeks ago. I'm running HDMI to my Stereo (Sony DH800) which then goes to my TV via HDMI. Sound's been good.

Today I got a Turtle Beach DXL1 and can't hear anything through the headset. Stereo plays audio just fine.

Connected the DXL1 to the optical jack on the back of the 360 S but the output is not showing up on the DSS2 unit as being in Dolby Digital, just surround sound mode.

I recorded my voice with the DXL1 and was able to hear it just fine. However, it's the only audio I've heard through the headset from my 360 S. I also connected the headset to my phone and got audio that way as well so I know it's not the headset.

Turned off Discovery, thinking that was the problem but no dice. Unplugged the HDMI cable from the 360 S and still no audio via the headset. Checked all connections on all cables. Optical cable is connected fine to the 360S as I am getting optical light
passing through the cable.

Xbox One audio adaptor - problems echoes

using the new audio adaptor with my turtle beach headset keep getting echo on chat and game audio - anyone else having problems?

Xbox One Adapter Issue

Hmmm. I've read about mic problems but not slow motion problems.

I also ran across this which mentions a type of update that I'm unfamiliar with as I don't own these headphones.

Hello,

Glad to hear you fixed the issue. Just make sure the sound is set correctly in Audio under your console settings to get the Dolby 5.1. And that you set up for head set as well.

Please check this step

The problem may be with your game or headset settings. Make sure your game audio is set to headset audio output in the Call of Duty settings menu. If the problem persists, try restarting your headset and console.

I doubt getting an answer for my hi-fi headphone - attachable mic - microsoft adapter problem as posted above. It probably would not work anyway. Maybe a compromise solution could be: PC headset with two 3.5mm jacks (audio + mic). The audio jack to the DAC,
mic jack to the adapter.

This might be the only way to get chat audio to the headset while maintaining superior game audio from the DAC. Check out the forthcoming Audio Technica ATH ADG1 PC headset.

It shouldn't hurt. I had the same issue. but they do make a adapter for this. and it don't cost very much a all.

Mine worked just fine but I went ahead a got this adapter anyways.
