    Headset Audio Not Working


    About a week ago i started playing on my xbox again, but when i went to plug in my (Astros with the control center thingy) back into my controller to plug my keyboard/m in the audio won't work through my controller. I can't adjsut any audio and i tried both
    my headsets and all my controllers. The audio output won't work through my controller it will onyl work with my optical output and hdmi chords i have to plug in with the astros control thing. So i want to play on keyboard but i cant get any headset audio if
    i do. I've tried giong into setting and turning off the one where it says, "only use optical and hdmi output" but even after i switch it off it still won't put output through my controller. Any idea why?

    Here is how I understand the whole headset compatability works (maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong):

    GAME AUDIO

    If your headset gets the game audio via a box linked to your gaming machine via optic audio out - this audio will continue to work as designed, as the xbox One has optic out as well.

    CHAT AUDIO

    If your headset gets the chat audio via a direct bluetooth wireless link to the xbox360 machine - then this headset will not work with chat audio on the xbox One.

    If your headset gets the chat audio wireless via a bluetooth puck that plugs into the 360 controller (not a direct wireless link to the gaming machine) -then this may work with the xbox One depending on how the forthcoming adapter works with next gen controllers.

    If your headset gets the chat audio via a cable directly connected to your xbox360 controller - then this may work on the xbox One depending on how the upcoming adapter works with the xbox One controller.

    Game sound not playing through one controller, voice chat works

    Anyone have an ideas? Headset has audio for party voices, but all in game audio and menu clicks do not work whne the headset is plugged into red controller. Sound works normally with the headset when plugged into black. What would be wrong with the red headset? The hardware seems to clearly work as the party voice chat works.... Very weird that only in game audio does not work. Is there a way to unpair the headset or some other type of reset anyone has heard of?

    Does the headset work on another controller? Do you have your audio settings set up for audio to come through the headset?

    Does your monitor have built in speakers?

    Nope

    Do you have a headset you can try to see if you get sound that way?

    I'm always using a headset and I've tried different ones on different controllers. The sound still works when you are not running any game or app. but as soon a game starts there is no sound.

    What are your actual settings for audio?

    Speaker audio:

    HDMI audio - Headset format

    Optical audio - Headset format

    Bitstream format - Off

    Headset audio:

    Headset format - Windows Sonic for Headphones

    Using HDMI or optica audio headset, not checked = no

    Then it says:

    "All audio is optimised for headsets right now. Once you unplug your headset, it'll go back to normal."
