Headset audio leak through headset mics, only on Xbox.

    Good morning,

I have an ongoing issue with my Xbox One X, possibly the controller. When I'm playing with other people in parties etc. there are many times where the audio coming from my headset is being picked up by the microphone on the headset. Also people's voices
will be picked up causing echo. At first it makes you think clearly it's the headset. At times, when I unplug and re-plug the headset it will stop for the most part. I've tried other headsets as well and it's the same issue. Mind you, this headset works fine
on PC or PlayStation without this issue at all. This is an Xbox only issue and other people with these headsets do not have this problem. I have power cycled the console and re-synced the controller many times in addition to the above. Nothing is more than
a temporary fix and I can't put my finger on any causation, just a roll of the dice on every startup.

I have not tested another controller because I don't have one, I don't want to have to buy one just to see if mine is messed up but most likely this will be necessary.

Any information, anybody with similar issues seen anything?

    Thanks.

    :)

    the newer 3.5mm controller

The chat headset is designed to only give you chat audio, and leave game audio coming through your television.

Any other headset will give you both game and chat audio through the headset, whether you use the new controller or the older version with the headset adapter.

  3. Xbox One headset question

I just got a new (cheap) headset for my Xbox One. My TV audio comes through both my TV and the headset. How do I just make the audio from the TV come through the TV, and not the headset?

    Thanks.

Microphone sensitivity is set in the AUDIO tab. After pressing the Xbox button on the sprocket. Of course you need to have a connected headset.

I don't know of any microphone sensitivity settings on Xbox even with a headset connected. The only things I have ever had are mic on / off, volume, chat / game balance and mic monitoring. People have complained Xbox needs a mic sensitivity setting forever,
so I'm not sure if this is accurate?

    Hello NickFragz,

Thank you for keeping us updated. Does this happen with the same group of friends or different people? This issue may be caused by someone in the party. There is an article entitled

    Xbox One Chat Headset Troubleshooting
which has a section for headsets which mentions hearing an echo. We recommend attempting the troubleshooting in this article. Be sure to let us know the results!

Xbox One - Headphone Mic Not Working

your bluetooth headset with mic is designed for audio and talking via bluetooth, the cable that you can plug into your headset and then to the controller only enables audio not mic. lots of bluetooth headsets and headphones are the same, the option to plug in a cable is for audio only.
