Headset and adapter question.

Just wondering if this headset will work with the Xbox One if i buy the headset adapter?

Ok, 1st question. Have you updated your controllers firmware with the headset plugged in?

Another question, have you toggled the mute button to make sure you don't have yourself muted?

Stereo Headset Adapter isn’t working

If your Stereo Headset Adapter isn’t functioning well, check the following:

Have you updated your controller’s software to support the Stereo Headset Adapter?

Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions like audio and rumble get turned off to conserve the remaining power.

Make sure your headset adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your stereo headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the headset adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
If the mute light comes on and you have updated your controller but your headset isn’t working, consult the manual or manufacturer.

Try your Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller if you can. If the adapter works on the second controller, try updating the first controller again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online
Service Center.

The headset adapter is only for connecting headsets via a 3.5mm jack. I get the impression, but cannot confirm so you need to follow up, that this headset uses optical audio, in which case you would not need the headset adapter and it should still work with
the Xbox One's optical audio out port.

I would advise that you contact the headset's manufacturer's to confirm these points.

 

The Headset appears to have optical audio but what about chat? It has the 3.5mm audio cable so i assume it will work as long as i get the adapter.

 

I don't see where you're seeing that information, but something like the Astro A70s (I believe that's the model name/number) works with digital/optical audio and a MixAmp but no 3.5mm cable (I've used these at an Xbox event) so I presume these should be
the same scenario, but again the manufacturer would know for sure and be able to give you the correct information.

You need the headset adapter I am not sure if you get the 3.5 to 2.5 cable adapter with the head set adapter just check as you will need it so you should have no problems

 

I just checked you do get the cable adapter so its there if you need it
