Headset Adapter will not unmute

Hello, I purchased a headset from Turtle Beach about two months ago. I competed the controller update and everything was working fine for about a week. When I turned my xbox on I noticed that the mute button was on and that there was no sound coming through
my headset anymore. The mute button will not change from unmute no matter how many times I press it.

I was just wondering how I can solve this issue because as it stand the headset is pretty much worthless.

Would like to mention also that the headset does work. I connected it to my phone and played music and I could hear it. So I know its a problem with the adapter.

Headset adapter will not unmute

I have a turtle beach headset that will not unmute even after updating the controller. In the past, updating would work but this time it appears to be permanent. Nothing is broken and the controller and accessories have been well maintained. No aduio will
play through the headset nor will it recognize the mic being plugged in. Everything was working fine, left for 20 minutes or so with the controller and set still on. When I came back the adapter has been stuck on mute.

 

Headset Adapter Problems

My headset is permanently stuck on mute. No matter what I do it will not unmute. Ive powered off the controller, pulled the adapter in and out, restarted the system...nothing fixes it. This all happened after the latest system update.

 

I have the same problem do you found a solution ?

 

Sorry this is a late reply, I had the same issue just, wouldn't unmute whatsoever, reset controller, took battery out of controller, cleared the cache....no solution

But then I decided to go into settings and then re-update the controller and it worked again..

 

i have this exact problem. The headset adapter is brand new (i just got my x1 tonight). I updated the default controller just fine, however, it doesn't matter if I'm using the default controller or my scuf. The headset adapter won't unmute itself. The little
orange light just continually stays on. I can hear game volume through my a40's just fine and I can hear everyone in party, but I'm muted. This is really frustrating.

I have tried everything listed on various forums. I've narrowed it down to the physical adapter. When I plug the standard x1 cheap mic into either controller (default or scuf), I can talk just fine and the mute / unmute works perfectly. When I plug the adapter
back in, the orange mute won't turn off.

 

I also just bought my AW x1 tonight. My stereo adapter is stuck on mute, the standard mic that comes with the xbox works just fine. After troubleshooting, i've determined it's probably a hardware issue.

anyone else have this issue?

 

Also having this issue, the fix i've found seems to be reupdating the controller whenever it happens. This is a bit of a joke as it takes a while and if you have to do it every time then it's going to get tedious...

 

My headset didn't unmute even after reupdating the controller... Does anyone found the solution?

i had this exact same issues as you guys.. reupdating the controller with the adaptor plugged in seemed to fix it for me.. they really need to fix this!

I have this issue also. Every time I go to update my controller it says there was a problem. Even after I fix it it still won't work. I don't want this to become a waste of money.

 

I'm having the same issue. The headset worked fine for a few days and suddenly last night it decided to stop working and will not unmute. I cannot hear ANYTHING (game sound or chat) through them from the xbox, but when I attach them to my phone they work
perfectly fine.

I've tried everything on the troubleshooting page and nothing has worked.

Both of my controllers took the update the first time as well, but now when I go in to try and apply the update again (as it suggests on the troubleshooting page and as people have suggested here), it says there is a problem.

It is the same for both controllers and I have tried changing the batteries out. The old headset (that came with the xbox) seems to be working fine as well when I go to party chat.

I hope this is fixed soon...I hate to have a $50+ product sitting here that is useless.
