Headset Adapter Static ONLY when using Micro-USB (instead of batteries)

I got the headset adapter and found that there is a static noise only when using a micro-usb to use the controller, but not when using batteries. Has anyone else had this issue, or is it possible my controller and/or adapter may be defective.

I have received the controller update and have tested multiple micro-usb cables. The one that came with the adapter has the least static associated, but is also the shortest in length.

    :)

    Xbox One Controller wont update

When i try to update my controller to use the stereo headset adapter it tells me to plug in the controller using a micro-USB cable from my Xbox one to the controller, however when i do this (using the Micro-USB that came with the official stereo headset
adapter) it still says there is no controller connected via USB, even though there is and i can even take the batteries out at this stage to make sure the micro USB is giving power to the controller and therefore connected and working... Any help?

How to charge your Xbox Wireless Headset

You should charge your wireless headset overnight before you start using it for the first time. You can charge your wireless headset using a USB charging cable or an AC power adapter.

To charge with a USB charging cable, connect one end of the headset charging cable to your wireless headset and plug the other end into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console. You have to turn on your console to charge the headset.

To charge with an AC power adapter, plug it into an electrical outlet and connect the other end to the wireless headset.

Note: When you connect the AC power adapter with your headset, the connection (if any) between the headset and console will be interrupted.

At the time of charging, the lights on your wireless headset flash one at a time, and then turn off. But when the headset is fully charged, all four lights blink together.

The headset beeps when the battery is low.

    • If your headset beeps two times, it means that 30 minutes of battery life remains.
    • If it beeps three times, 5 minutes of battery life remains.

Headset Adapter Static ONLY when using Micro-USB (instead of batteries)

    Hi there.

Just out of interest, what headset are you trying to use with the adapter? Headsets that connect to the console via USB (Astro A40, Turtle Beach XP Seven, etc) tend to run into a ground loop issue when you're also trying to use a controller in wired mode.

Hi, I have the same problem as laser it seems or similar , I'm using a scuf controller and I'm trying to play wired and when i plug it into the controller with or without the batteries a constant static noise is present. Without the usb connected theres
no static noise when the batteries are in but i want to play with wired. The headset I'm using is the turtle beach headsets x12's through the headset adaptor.

I don't know what to do, any suggestions or solutions ?

will Xbox Rechargeable Battery + USB-C Cable work on xbox one s?

The battery should work, but you would need to charge with a micro USB cable instead.

Permanent plug next to batterie indicator in the upper right corner

I dont mean the headset adapter symbol, there is a power adapter for a socket next to batterie indicator even though there are batteries and no USB connection
