Headset Adapter Problems

Since acquiring one of these adapters today, here's what I've been experiencing.

1) No matter what controller (I have two) the adapter and headset are plugged into when I start up the console, I have to then turn on the other controller and plug the adapter in to get the mic to work.

2) After about 20 minutes of gameplay, the controller that has the headset adapter stop responding completely.

Both controllers have been updated.

Headset adapter problems

I am trying to do the update to the controller and I am getting a message that says no usb is connected to the controller. The usb is working because there is no batteries in the controller and it's still powering on. Has anyone been able to resolve
this issue? Without the update I am getting a weird staticky noise in my headphones. Thank you in advance for any help.

 

Headset adapter problems

Hi everyone. Three week XB1 owner here. I bought a new headset adapter today and as expected, the controller update msg popped up as soon as I connected it. When I tried to update by connecting the pad with the adapter + headset in to the side USB port,
the msg was no controller found. Also the audio is very scratchy and games stopped launching. What is going on here?

im having this problem or one similar. I havent played anygames since the titanfall beta. but when playing the release, now my controller freezes. the light stays on but nothing responds. if I remove the batteries and put them back in all is good for a few
more games. never had this problem before the march update. so im thinking its either the OS or controller update, or the chat adapter causing the controller to freeze.

 

also, I only have one controller so I cant test another one.

 

Yeah, this is absolutely aggravating. The adapter just stops working after about 20 minutes.

It would be nice to know if this is a defective unit or just bad firmware. If it's defective, or they're not going to fix the firmware anytime soon, I'd like to return it while I still can.

My headset is permanently stuck on mute. No matter what I do it will not unmute. Ive powered off the controller, pulled the adapter in and out, restarted the system...nothing fixes it. This all happened after the latest system update.

 

bobby, this is the problem i'm having as well. stereo adapter always stuck on mute. i can hear everyone, game sound, i just can't talk. the cheap xbox adapter works just fine, and i've already tried everything under the sun.

it seems to be a hardware issue with the stereo adapter.

 

I got the same problem. Can't unmute the mic Headset

 

The mute will only activate if you try and update. DO NOT UPDATE when it prompts you. We have 360 Astro A40's, and out of the box, adapter works fine.
