Headset Adapter no go

Word of warning...the headset adapter and headset, which started shipping and I got today, won't work unless you are in the beta/preview program. I have a friend who is and he was able to get the controller firmware update to apply, but it is a no go on
my system. It would be great if MS would bother to not ship things that won't work when they arrive.

Looks like the update also adds DD optical out, which is good, but I am pretty annoyed that I have a useless accessory at the moment.

Television Audio Through Xbox One Headset

If you are talking about the Chat headset, that comes with Xbox One, then No. If you are talking about Stereo Headset, with an Stereo Headset Adapter. then Yes. Using the Stereo Headset Adapter give to both Chat and Game sound to the headset. If you TV,
is connected to the Xbox, your TV sound, will go to the headset.

Not really the point, they shouldn't be shipping when the vast majority of users can't use it. Many will assume it is defective and call support or return them.

The PS4 Gold headphones work with the XB1 as well.

You just need the XB1 headset adapter and the cable going from the headset to the adapter. Works pretty well.

Hello AJB,

Thanks for keeping us updated. The headset adapter would not enable a wireless connection. The headset adapter is used to bypass the 3.5 mm jack on your controller that may be damaged, causing the microphone issues. Here is an article going over the headset
