Headset Adapter Died after a Week

I bought the Headset Adapter adapter about a week ago from walmart. I updated my controllers and it was working fine. The other night I had some friends come over so I unplugged the headset adapter so we could hear in game mics through the TV. Later that
night I went to plug it back in and its not working. The mute button does not light up which leads me to believe its not getting power. I've tired it in both of my controllers and I've tried updating both my controllers and its still not working. I tried taking
it back to walmart but they wont except a return without the original box. (Not that they could exchange it anyway there are sold out in store and online until march WTF?) So I live chatted with xbox support online (Because I figured MS stands by there products
and would have some sort of warrenty) they told me to contact MS hardware and gave me a number. I called and MS hardware says they only support mice,keyboards and webcams and transferred me to xbox phone support. Xbox phone support told me the only thing they
could do for me was order a replacement for $25 which is the full retail price that I paid for. Then they recommended taking back to walmart (which I already tried doing) and giving them a hard time until they accept the return. I am beyond furious right now
I don't even want to but another one because the it will probably end up dieing on me a week from now anyway.

Stereo headset problems.

I have the armed forces stereo headset, i was playing evolve beta, my play&charge pack died, got it charged a bit and i cant hear anything through my headset, my adapter wont even light up. Help please, i really dont want to buy a new adapter or headset.

 

GOW 3 controller died after a week

So I bought the sweet GOW3 controller with a gift card I got with my purchase of MW3 and after not even a week of using it it died while I was playing. It wasn't the battery or the battery pack. I changed both of those from my other controller and it didn't
work. So is there a warranty at all with it or do I have a new paper weight? I literally got it about 5 or 6 days ago.

 

Seems to me that your assumption was correct. It seems a few fellow members and friends of mine had the same problem with their headset adapters. You took the right action in calling Microsoft after the Walmart try didn't work. Hopefully for your sake that

If they are that poorly made I am not going to even bother getting another, don't feel like throwing more of my money in the trash. I am just going to use the my kinect as a mic when It comes back from being fixed. Thankfully Microsoft at least supports
that poorly made product.
