Headset Adapter - Chat not heard on my end.

So, I have the XboxOne headset adapter. Was working fine. Then stopped working properly about a month ago.

Sound is fine. People can hear me in chat but, I can't hear them.

I even bought a new adapter to see if the old one was shot.

New one has same issue. (a wasted $30).

My sons Tritton adapter works fine.

So, what's up Xbox? You have a fix for this?

Headset included with Xbox One........... Finally.

Last I heard, there was no headset included. Kinect will handle chat. I haven't heard any timetable for the adapter.

 

People say my Tritton 720+ mic echoes

When you mice echos, you simply take the audio cable jack out of the headset, and put that end into the handset chat adapter, get the chat adapter end and put that into the headset.

Sounds odd but does work (short term), and is in the tech docs for TB.

 

What headset are you using?

 

I'm having same problem I even backed out of the preview program to see if it would work in still does it I'm using the xbox one chat mic the one that comes with the Xbox

 

Vertigo - borrow your sons headset and test it out with your adapter. If his works fine it might be your headset that is the issue.

Cull man - the basic chat headset could possibly be on its way out. If you believe it could be a preview issue use the report feedback function on your console. Just hold down the Xbox logo and it should pop up. If you no longer have that ability post about

Its the adapter, or whatever they've done to its firmware/software.

Both Tritton headsets. do the same thing when connected to the Xbox One adapter.

Even the turtle beach headset I had for my 360 worked with the Xbox One adapter, and it doesn't work properly now either. Same issue. People can hear me. I can't hear them.

All headsets work with the Tritton adapter. Unfortunately Microsoft won't license anyone to sell an adapter separate from a headset.

 

Have you tried updating the controller with the adaptor plugged in?

 

Yup, I've gone through everything.

Just spent 45mins in chat with Support. LOL

They couldn't explain why the Tritton Adapter works, and the Microsoft adapters don't.

She got into port forwarding on my router. Then try the offline system update for my console if that doesn't work.

OR

How 'bout I just go buy another Tritton headset with their adapter for $60, as it seems I already wasted $70 on two Microsoft adapters, that don't work on the Microsoft product they were built for.

 

Probably explains why a lot of folks are having issues with there mic's lately if it is dodgy firmware affecting the Microsoft adapter. That really sucks.
