Headphones on wired controller

Hi so i am using an Xbox one wired controller and for some reason it stopped registering my Xbox headphones, i looked up a way to fix it, but no one can tell me anything on it, how do I fix it?

Do the headphones plug directly into the controller or are you using an adapter of any kind? Also do the headphones have a wire that might've come loose from the earpiece to the wire itself?

Just to be clear, the wired headphones are plugged directly into the controller?

Hello RainyPanic41, give us more details about your controller, your headset please. If you have an other headset, can you try it to know
if the problem don't come from the controller ?

That really sounds like an issue with the wiring. If you can, try using the headphones on a different device (phone, different controller, tablet or computer). If you have the same issue on all of the devices you have a bad wire in the headphone. If
there is no issue with any of the devices then you have a problem with your headphone jack on your controller.
