Headphones connected to xbox one s controller no sound?

Just to clarify, are you trying to get sound via the Xbox One controller's headphone port?

I have the same setup as you (X360 hooked into X1 via HDMI-in) and I get all Xbox 360 sounds going into my headphones (when connected to X1 controller).

How are your audio settings configured for both your Xbox One and Xbox 360?

For anyone still plagued with this issue, with wireless headphones, you'll need a controller with an audio jack or the adapter.

My Xbox One S, with the September 2018 patch, simply disconnect the wireless headphones and plug standard headphones or cell phone earbuds into the controller. Give it a minute or two, then unplug them. enter the sound settings ams change the headphone
audio "uncompressed stereo". Exit the sound settings and re-enter the sound setting and your HDMI setting will be available. You can then re-setup your wireless headphones with any of the options needed.

I hope this helps others with this issue.

This does not occur if I connect the same headset via wire/headphone jack to the controller.

It only occurs when connected wirelessly to the Xbox one S.

Have you tried another type of headset? As I understand it you tried on another control but not another headset is that?

No, I used different headsets and regular headphones, but this did not yield any results.

Also, to be clear, I'm connecting these headphones with the controller(s). Used to work flawlessly before.

I'm hearing regular sounds again through my own controller, but not my girlfriend's, even though I've applied the same settings. I've also tried updating both controllers, yet there were no updates available.

How is it possible that my controller produces sound through connected headphones but my girlfriends' doesn't?

Thanks for reaching out to us! So, the second headphones being used cause the screen to flicker when plugged into the controller? I do have a few questions:

• Is it the whole screen that flickers when the headphones are plugged in?
• What type of headphones are being used?
• Is there any sound at least when the second headphones are plugged in?

The reason the headphones do not work could be because they are not compatible with the Xbox Console/Controller. Check out the following links:
