Headphones Connected but no mic output

I've been using the Cloud II's from HyperX for about a year and they are still working wonderfully for both PC gaming and when I want to play on my Xbox. My problem is that a few days ago my mic output isn't being picked up. Mic still works on PC but if
I use another headset (used my earbuds that have a mic) on the Xbox everything works. I've troubleshooted about everything, from assigning my controller to my profile, to completely reseting my Xbox and I've run out of ideas. The only thing I see that may
be a fix is that when I go into my Controller Settings, Device Info, and then Connected Device (which says headset underneath it), both the firmware version and the "Assigned to - Not Assigned" options are greyed out but I'm pretty sure they were always greyed
out.

Things I've tried:

-Different controller (no change)

-Replugging my connect in

-Using my Xbox mic adapter (instead of direct input into controller through 3.5)

-Lots of google searching

-Went through all settings (audio, privacy, connections)

-Re-updated firmware for controller

Technical Microphone adapter questions!!! Dedicated mic and headphones!

Okay so, I have a question regarding the headset adapter for the Xbox one controller. I picked it up, and see that there is a standard 4 stage 3.5mm headphone jack (headphones and mic in one 3.5mm jack). I have a quite expensive blue bird xlr mic, as well
as a pre-amp that can output to 3.5mm. So the question is, if I get a 3.5mm 4 stage splitter that will split the mic and the headphones into two 3 stage 3.5mm female inputs, will I be able to have my studio quality mic and dedicated headphones connected to
my controller, working?

Sorry for the complicated question! Hopefully it works, because a studio quality mic would be amazing! I figure it would since its a standard 3.5mm input

How did you manage do use Kinect as mic while your headphones are connected to the controller? As soon as I plug in my headphones into the Stereo Headset Adapter my Kinect won't work as mic anymore... Strange thing is, this also happens if my headphones
don't have an integrated mic

Some more questions please.

Does the headphone port carry mic/headphone capability. There is no mic jack port on the Thrustmaster.

Also, I could use it when playing other games with a normal controller to chat as if the mic port is capable.

Secondly, I want a hardwire connection from the XAC to my Xbox one S but the output from the XAC is USBc which I understand is not compatible with USB3/2 - is that correct. I prefer hardwire connections to bluetooth.

What type of mic are you using? Kinect microphone, a stereo headset with adapter plugged into the controller, 3.5mm headphone jack headset, headset connected via optical output? With a bit more information we can help by providing better troubleshooting
information.

You'd need a headphone amp or a pair of computer speakers with a headphone output between the AV output and the headphones. Connecting them straight to a line level output like the AV output on the Xbox 360 would not only lose the ability to control volume
and be extremely loud, but could kill the headphones.

I'm a bit unsure of how they've set up the AV output though. Given that it's a four-pole type to also output composite video, it might not be wired to be used for audio only (though it should be).

There will be two different types of 2.5mm female plug To a 3.5mm male jack adapters out there available.

One will be for just headphones (headset or earbuds without a mic), and the other will be for L/R headphones, and a mic. You can tell by the number of rings in the adapter stem. For this to work, it needs to be the latter because the headset has L/R output
sound, and mic input receiving (3 rings).

On the casing of your PC is there two 3.5mm sockets, one for Headphones and one for a microphone?

A lot of modern PC's have a combo 3.5mm socket that is used for a headset as opposed to headphones, older PC's do not have the socket

If that is not a combo 3.5mm socket, you can get an splitter for your headset that will split that to connect to a separate Headphone output and Mic input socket

What is the Make and exact Model No. of your PC - that will be printed on a sticker on the bottom casing?
