Headphone with Mic on XBOX X series controllers

Hi,

i recently bought a Xbox X series console with controller and i have a Klipsch headphone with built in mic. When playing all games that include chat in the fame i can hear everybody speak but i cannot get my mic to work. I had my mic tested on my cell phone
so i know its not the mic or headset that is faulty.

Please assist with settings on my console or explain compatibility on the 3.5mm headset socket on my controller??

Thx for ur response, but standard USB mics for Xbox one, PS4 or nintendo switch dont work on Xbox series x. I tested them...

The only thing works fine is headphones + mic. But si not a good solution for me and karaoke games.

It would be nice that Microsoft sold official microphones that work with Xbox series x.

Your Klipsch likely doesnt have the poles in the right order, you need an adapter to go the other way. Afraid my advice a few years ago would have been to go to radio shack and get bith kinds and find out which works. Inquire with Klipsch and im sure
they can tell you

Unfortunately, there is no built-in mic on the Xbox Series X and no bluetooth support if you're thinking to go that route.

You will need to attach a headset with a mic to the Xbox Series X controller. The Xbox Series X controller uses a standard 2.5mm audio connection for Xbox Live, you can use any standard headset. (It does not have to be something fancy or expensive.)

Geri, I'm not sure if you still are receiving this thread but I did get my replacement Xbox controller today and I hooked it up to my series X and everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming through my wired headphones. These are Arctis Prime Steel Series wired headphones that worked fine with all my other controllers and just recently with my Xbox series X controller but when I connected to the Elite control they sent me it does there's no sound coming through. I cleaned the port a harder rebooted my Xbox Series X I updated the firmware and still no results.

Do you have any suggestions?

got the same issue. i try two different headphones on three different controllers on xbox one x and I can hear sound and people talking ( xbox live chat ) on the earphones themselves but when i speak, the mic seems
to be inop like you. i test the headphone on pc and smartphone and there the mic works. try to hard reset the console but nothing changes
