Headphone Issue - Sound goes through "chat channel" when in Party (X1)

Hey, this is a weird issue and I'm having a hard time finding information because describing it takes so long! Please bear with me!

I have a set of Turtle Beach x41 wireless Headphones with the headset adapter, and they worked awesome, that is, until the latest system update, or the one before.

When I'm playing a game by myself, the audio is great, 5.1 surround, very clear and crisp. Once I start or join a party though, the GAME sound goes through the "chat channel" so it becomes tinny, and barely stereo. I also can't adjust game volume with the control
on the headphones themselves, telling me the sound is no longer coming through the wireless base, but just through the thin chat cable that connects to my controller. Adjusting volume on the cord works, but it used to just control the CHAT volume while the
game volume would stay the same. The volume control on the adapter is just a confusing waste of time, I really don't get it, but it's probably because it doesn't work properly.

The headphones worked fine before so there must have been a change with a system update!

My controller is fully updated.

Has anyone had this problem, can they point me in the direction of a solution, or recommend a new set of Headphones? I'm looking for Wireless, 5.1 (or 7.1) surround and maybe has an official chat connection.

Please help!

:)

VGA setup, with Astro Gaming A40's
Any Matrix does Encoding/Decoding
The "Matrix" in this case is encoded at the source and
decoded on the MixAmp.
No, they are not being encoded onto two channels. Encoding specifically connotes that the original multi-channel audio still exists in the two channel
form. That's not the case here. Once it goes through Dolby Headphone there's no provision to decode the two channel output back into its original multi-channel source.

Dolby Headphone is processing. It is not encoding.

Wireless chat frequency
Is it being changed for the X1?
The protocol is being changed, yes.
No.
The
headphone portion will work. The wireless chat channel that pairs to the 360 now will not work with the Xbox One. The Warhead lacks a chat cable facility. It is unlikely that the mic will ever work with the Xbox One.

4. Headphone Issue - Sound goes through "chat channel" when in Party (X1)

I've got the same problem! I want the game audio to come from my trittons decoder box but it comes through the controller aswell, meaning the chat and the game sound is on the same channel so to speak, when I turn the chat up to hear my friends it also turns
the game sound up, is there a way to stop the game sound from coming from the controller and just have the chat like on the 360? If not there really needs to be that option, someone please help :-( I so basically I just want chat to be broadcast by the controller
and not game sound, I'd really appreciate some help on this matter.

all i have to do is hold the chat button down until i hear a beep to let me know it only chat been sent, now my headset works perfect, my headset is the Tritton ax720+ 7.1, just incase anyone wants to know they work with the xbox one,i can confirm they do,
and there awesome! Thanks for the help!"

Xbox party chat too loud astro a40s

I have figured out the issue. For some reason when I have the option set to channel sound through both the headset and TV it really mutes the sound going to the headset for some reason. When I switch to headset only for party chat it instantly triples or quadruples the sound entering the headset. Not sure why but I am unable to allow my girlfriend to listen to my party chat while I play (it's less boring for her to watch when she can hear the people I'm playing with also).

Snapping TV

Did you choose the correct TV provider when you went through the setup? Try changing the TV provider until Channel up works.

As far as the sound goes, you would not be able to separate the sound on your tv from your headphones. They are both pulling sound from the same place (Your xbox or cable tv). Certain brands of headphones have a feature on them to separate chat and game volume
which is what you may be mixing up.

When you are saying mute, you are muting your TV volume which is where your xbox and cable come through. When your TV is muted, all sound is muted unless you have a home theater system, in which case sound would still come through the home theater. But again,
the home theater would be pulling its sound from the same place as the tv so there is no way to separate your tv / game volumes.
