Headphone connectivity on Xbox Wireless protocol

    Hello,

I have the Surface Headphones 2 and am wondering if they can connect to the Xbox Series X using the Xbox Wireless protocol. I am hoping the answer is yes, as they are both Microsoft products.

I am patiently waiting for the Xbox Series X to be available again soon to order.

    Thank you,

    :)

    Headset series x

Wireless headphones are a bit difficult when it comes too Xbox due to the communication protocol they use. Most 3rd party headphones require a dongle to the Xbox and even then they will probably need to be connected to the controller via a 3.5mm.

Xbox Recently announced a new wireless headset that connects directly to your Xbox and PC without the need for a dongle or 3.5mm. Set for release Next week on the 16th of March. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/headsets/xbox-wireless-headset

Personally, Im currently happy with my SteelSeries Arctis 9X and the rest of their headsets are pretty decent as well.

    Question

Not like a computer or mobile phones. Xbox has its own for connection of controller.

    I found this:

Just to correct some incorrect information about the wireless method used by the Xbox console:

The controllers are NOT paired by Bluetooth to the console but a proprietary wireless protocol developed by Microsoft themselves.

They found that Bluetooth has too much input lag, and therefore developed their own wireless protocol.

This wireless protocol is also able to transmit voice chat and game sound (even in spatial 3D through Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos for Headphones).

So the Xbox console itself has NO Bluetooth in any way.

The (newer Xbox One S) Controllers DO have the ability to connect via Bluetooth to OTHER devices (like a PC, or mobile devices), but when connected via Bluetooth, they can't transmit game sound.

    Power consumtion with Xbox controller

    Hi,

I think there have been some confusion with the answers here. Xbox One Controllers on PC can connect in three different ways.

    USB

Your PC's USB port will charge the battery during play or just power the controller if no battery present.

Bluetooth Your controller will be connected to the PC wireless via the BT protocol.

Official Xbox One PC wireless receiver

The wireless receiver uses its own wireless protocol (it's not Bluetooth), provides slightly more features and is easier to pair with the PC. It may or may not use more power, it really depends on how you're using it. Obviously it will use more power if
you use a mic or headphones.

One controller on its own with no mic or headphones should use the same power consumption as Bluetooth.

if i buy the wireless xbox 360 headset, can i hear the game sound/ingame audio in the headset?

How to connect this wireless headphone to the xbox 360?

Xbox 360 work with a cheaper wireless headphone?

Does the Xbox one X have Bluetooth

in fact the controller is paired by bluetooth. for audio you need an adapter

So unfortunately, you can't use your Samsung Galaxy Buds on your Xbox console directly.
